Full Description

This position is responsible for supporting the vessel purchasing process including issuing purchase orders and vendor management. Additionally, this role will assist in developing purchasing best practices and support vessel operations in achieving its goals through various projects and tasks. Responsibilities • Act as purchasing expert regarding iProcurement tool within vessel operations. • Understand all purchase order procedures. • Evaluate and measure vendor performance to ensure performance meets expectations, including lead time, quality, and contract commitments. • Maintain positive relationship with vendors and tour vendor facilities as necessary. • Assist supply chain team with supplier selection, price negotiation and bid evaluation process. • Contribute to a strong governance culture by complying with all accounting practices, audit procedures and purchasing policies. • Issue purchase orders. • Ensure cost savings plans are created and implemented with supply purchasing. • Travel to coordinate all vessel operations purchasing functions as needed. • All other duties as assigned. Qualifications • Excellent telephone etiquette. • Organized, detail-oriented and accurate. • Ability to handle multiple tasks. • Ability to operate standard office equipment, personal computer, scanner and multi-line telephone. • Knowledge and use of computer software: Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook; Oracle knowledge would be beneficial. • Supply chain Management training and implementation skills would be beneficial. • Contract review and negotiation skills would be beneficial. Competencies: • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. • Strong communication and organization skills. • Ability to work independently. • Strong written and verbal communication skills. Education: College degree preferred (business, accounting, finance, or supply chain preferred). Experience: Work history in supply, logistics, purchasing or customer service is beneficial. Physical Activities & Requirements: Standard Office Criteria Working Conditions: Standard Office Criteria 7:00 am to 4:00pm Monday through Friday. Travel as required to facilitate Vessel Operations Purchasing Function.
