The Role: Accounting Manager We’re seeking an experienced, hands-on Accounting Manager with a background in small to mid-sized businesses and a strong track record in both day-to-day accounting and team leadership. This is a highly visible role reporting directly to the VP of Finance, perfect for someone who enjoys working across all levels of the company — from the shop floor to the C-suite. What You’ll Do • Oversee A/P, A/R, Payroll, and general ledger activities • Manage month-end and year-end close with accurate and timely reporting • Lead and mentor a small accounting team (A/R clerks, A/P, staff accountant) • Support cost accounting and analyze manufacturing inventory/production variances • Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and manage cash flow • Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls • Drive process improvements and increase efficiency • Coordinate with external auditors and support annual audit processes • Work closely with operations, plant management, and leadership on cross-functional financial initiatives Who You Are • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (required) • 5+ years of accounting experience, with 2+ years in a leadership role • Proven success in a hands-on role — you’re comfortable rolling up your sleeves • Experience working in a small to mid-sized company, preferably manufacturing • Strong understanding of cost accounting, inventory, and ERP systems (Syteline a plus) • Syteline ERP system experience or similar ERP experience and proficiency in Microsoft Excel • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills • Able to work fully on-site, with occasional Saturday coverage (every 6-7 weeks from 7:00a-11:00a) Why Join? • Stable, family-run business • Collaborative, tight-knit finance team • Real impact – your work directly supports business decisions • Great work-life balance – most employees finish by 5 PM • Strong employee tenure • Direct access to senior leadership – your voice will be heard • Growth opportunity • Bonus potential + end-of-year 401(k) company match
