The Junior Software Engineer will be involved in the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of software for scientific and engineering applications. Responsibilities include analyzing customer requirements, creating prototypes, performing internal testing, and resolving software discrepancies.
A BS in mathematics, engineering, computer science, or a related field is required, along with a firm grasp of algorithms and complex data structures. Active DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification and an active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain Top Secret are also required.

Key Responsibilities: Performs all activities associated with the design, development, implementation, maintenance, configuration management and quality control of software for scientific/engineering applications. Assist in analyzing customer requirements and translating them into a design. Assist in creating prototypes. Perform internal testing of software products. Respond to and resolve software discrepancies against documented requirements. Generate program design language and code based on department standards with supervisory oversight. Provide input to generate/update project documents. Analyzes and evaluates systems and devises computer specifications and systems for scientific/engineering applications to process data. Encodes, tests, debugs, and installs operating programs and procedures. Participates with engineering in the design, development, and utilization of scientific/engineering electronic data processing systems software. Provides analysis related to the design, development, and implementation of software for products such as utility software, development software, and diagnostic software. Participates in the development of engineering test strategies, devices and systems. Additional Compensation: KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of sign on bonus, relocation benefits, short term incentives, long term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
