This position is responsible for outreach activities to promote the PSEG energy efficiency program to the utility’s business customers as well as companies who provide energy efficiency equipment or services. This includes contractors, manufacturers, distributors, and engineers. Description The Outreach Professional is a member of a high-performance team, responsible for tracking progress against program targets, weekly/monthly/annual reporting of participation, developing resolutions to meet productivity, quality and client satisfaction goals/objectives. Must possess a can-do attitude and be willing to wear multiple hats. I. RESPONSIBILITIES • Recruit contractors, engineering firms, consultants, manufacturers, and distributors as official trade allies within the Commercial & Industrial Programs • Work with building owners, property managers and/or facility engineers to identify potential projects for the energy efficiency programs • Field industry events on behalf of TRC/PSEG • Develop and deliver program presentations to spur project activity • Respond to customer inquiries by phone, electronically or in person, to develop projects • Enter sales activity data into a CRM program • Maintain professional appearance appropriate for a representative of our organization and the utility • Develop and track adequate leads to ensure programs achieve energy savings targets • Track and deliver upon Key Performance Indicators relative to lead generation, energy savings, quantity of participants, quantity of participating contractors and others as deemed appropriate by leadership team • Be able to work in a team atmosphere, and willing to collaborate with colleagues on business development activities III. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS • B.A. or B.S. in Business or 3+ years’ experience in sales, account management, or similar • Ability to decipher technical jargon and effectively communicate those terms to individuals of varying skill levels • Ability to generate and convert a high volume of sales leads • Highly-polished communication skills—written and oral • Ability to transition quickly between tasks • Solid problem-solving capabilities • Team player with positive attitude and ability to work effectively with different teams • Solid computer skills, including proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and CRM systems • Willingness to travel within the state of NJ up to 75% of the time • Reliable means of transportation to facilitate site visits throughout the State of New Jersey. • Responsible for maintenance and fees of the transportation vehicle. • Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record. • Pre-employment drug and background screening • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly, effectively, and collaboratively with all levels of staff, participants, and community members, with excellent interpersonal and organizational skills • Comfort and ease in facilitating groups of community stakeholders • Outstanding people/interpersonal, collaboration, and advocacy skills • Site visits will require physical activity for extended periods of time, including but not limited to, standing, walking with occasional, climbing, kneeling, and related field work as required • Ability to work for an extended period of time with personal protective equipment (PPE) • Bilingual – Spanish/English • Lift and carry heavy appliances up to 20 lbs. occasionally III. DESIRED SKILLS • Experience in energy and/or utility industry • LEED or CEM credentials IV. WORK LOCATION There will be a blend of onsite and remote work. Candidate will be required to travel in our client’s New Jersey territory as required (approximately 50% within the State of New Jersey). Candidate will be required to attend at least two meetings a month onsite at the TRC NJ office located at 317 George Street, Suite 520, New Brunswick, NJ 08901. Official worksite is 317 George Street, Suite 520, New Brunswick, NJ 08901. NOTE: Candidate must be New Jersey Resident and reside in New Jersey. V. WORKING REMOTE REQUIREMENTS • TRC will provide the required computer equipment to perform their work. TRC will not provide printers. Equipment supplied by TRC is to be used for business purposes and will be maintained by TRC. An inventory of all TRC IT equipment received by each candidate will be provided and candidates receiving IT equipment agree to take appropriate action to protect the items from damage or theft. Upon termination of assignment, all Company IT equipment will be returned to the TRC. • Consistent with TRC’s expectations on information security, candidates must adhere to all Company policies for acceptable use and protection of Company equipment, systems, networks, and information. Candidates are responsible for securing computing equipment, protecting logged-in computers from accidental or intentional misuse, and using extra care when handling Company and customer proprietary and confidential information, in both digital and paper forms. All measures should be taken to ensure that the Company is not unreasonably exposed to cybersecurity threats or loss of information. Candidates are prohibited from using publicly accessible wi-fi when working on TRC computer equipment. USB devices will be blocked on all TRC computer equipment. • Candidate will be responsible for securing an adequate internet connection (speed, security, and bandwidth) and phone service to effectively perform the essential duties of the job. Phone service can be cell service. Internet and phone service are at the candidate’s expense. • Candidates will be responsible for maintaining their home offices so that they can accomplish their work in an efficient, safe, and expeditious manner. TRC will not be responsible for costs associated with the setup of the candidate's home office to include remodeling, furniture such as desks, chairs or file cabinets, and lighting or repairs or modifications to the home office space. TRC accepts no responsibility for damage or repairs to candidate-owned equipment. VI. WORK SCHEDULE a. The Outreach Professional will work 40 hours a week. Standard business hours with some requirements to attend events outside of standard business hours. b.
