The Kalamazoo Regional Educational Service Agency (KRESA) is a critical part of Michigan’s education system serving the Greater Kalamazoo region and provides specialized services to schools and communities and optimizes resources by centralizing innovative programs and services. We partner with school districts and the broader community to offer essential programs including early childhood education, special education, career learning, and educator development, ensuring that learners of all ages receive the support they need. We are currently seeking a Technology Support Specialist II with the Michigan Data Hub. This position is remote/hybrid, with occasional travel within Michigan. Candidates must reside within Michigan, or a commutable distance. Summary: The Technology Support Specialist II specializes in an area such as application support, hardware/network support, or Internet support/web services. Installs, modifies, and makes minor repairs to personal computer hardware and software systems, utilizes and supports PC and web-based applications, provides technical assistance and training to system users, and provides Internet web site and graphic design by performing the following duties. The essential responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to: • Troubleshoot and support technical integrations, including data exchange between platforms and applications • Provide support for customer-facing application systems • Diagnosing and resolve issues efficiently using remote support tools • MiServiceDesk & vendor coordination (opening/managing tickets, following vendor resources and matrices such as MSDS component alignment • Support State services via API (UIC Services, Snack‑Pack/portable records, Direct Certification • Understanding SIS data prerequisites (e.g., UIC uniqueness, student ID alignment for downstream consumption) • Identity & access management across MiDataHub SSO • Ensure compliance with FERPA‑aligned data handling • Mentor Tier I support staff by offering guidance, training, and work prioritization • Maintain customer-facing applications, including websites, documentation, social media, and project management tools • Assist in maintaining the product catalog with accurate and timely information • Assist with testing software updates to ensure correct functionality • Provide training and maintain end user support documentation and guides. • Other duties as assigned Qualified candidates will have: • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems or related field or five years of related experience • 3+ years supporting applications Preferred Experience: · Supporting API integrations and OAuth 2.0, claims‑based authorization, and HTTPS · SIS‑specific integration competency (PowerSchool, Infinite Campus, Skyward, etc.; knowing state documentation and setup/sync orders · MiDataHub Cockpit, Launchpad, and SSO (navigating agreements, reports/exports, utilities; supporting federated login via district Google/Microsoft identity) Certificates, License, Registration:  Related technology certifications Travel Requirements: This position requires occasional day and overnight travel. This is a 12-month calendar position in job grade 15T with a yearly rate of pay between $52,137 and $71,722.
