Kaizen Labs is redefining government technology and building solutions across parks & recreation, permitting, citizen engagement, and more. We recognize that incumbent software systems are inefficient and sometimes broken. That’s why we believe residents and public servants across America’s 85,000 government agencies deserve access to modern, trusted software that rivals what we use in our daily lives. Kaizen’s software currently serves 25 million residents across the country. Some of our partners include the City of Santa Clarita, Vail Recreation District, and Pima County. Founded in 2022 and based in New York City, we’re backed by Accel and Andreessen Horowitz. Our team of 25 (and growing) is eager to leave a lasting impact on the public services that are so critical to our health, safety, and wellness. Location This is a hybrid role based out of our New York City HQ. The candidate must reside in New York or be able to commute to New York City to work out of our office at least 3x a week. Who You Are You are running towards a startup and feel energized by autonomy, creativity, and the chance to build 0-1. You have an entrepreneurial and builder’s mindset. You’re excited to design playbooks, A/B test, and iterate quickly. You thrive in both digital and IRL channels, and can quickly shift gears from running a digital marketing campaign to ensuring a conference runs smoothly. You understand this is a lead role where you’ll start as a team of 1, building a foundation and eventually growing the organization. You’re passionate about Kaizen’s mission at the intersection of civic impact and technology. What You’ll Do Growth & Demand Generation Design and execute multi-channel growth strategies (email, social, paid, content, print, partnerships) to generate qualified leads from local, state, and federal government departments. Build, iterate, and own marketing campaigns from end-to-end, from concept to measurement. Partner closely with Sales and Design teams to ensure alignment across company collateral, marketing materials, and messaging. Brand & Content Develop and refine Kaizen’s brand voice, messaging, and positioning across various GTM touchpoints (website, campaigns, collateral). Lead storytelling initiatives that capture Kaizen’s missions, such as case studies, videos, customer spotlights, podcasts, shorts, and other creative formats. Build a content engine for Kaizen, with an emphasis on creative, thoughtful videos that capture our mission Partnerships & Community Oversee and manage Kaizen’s relationships with regional and national associations. Plan and execute a calendar of events, including tradeshows, educational sessions, and private gatherings. Manage a team to ensure the smooth execution of events. Turn Kaizen’s customers into advocates, working closely with Customer Success to build community, amplify testimonials, and drive peer referrals. Communications Work closely with communications partners to announce company fundraising outlets and secure Tier 1 publication coverage or compelling third-party narratives written about Kaizen. Strategy & Analytics Define KPIs and build the infrastructure to measure success across all channels. Use data to constantly improve decision-making. What You’ll Bring 5+ years of experience in growth, demand generation, or marketing, ideally in SaaS, govtech, or B2B2C environments. Experience with field marketing. Analytical mindset and experience setting up dashboards, analyzing campaign performance, and making data-informed decisions. Strong storytelling and copywriting skills. Raw video production and creative directing experience is a bonus. Proficiency with tools like Salesforce, Mailchimp, Figma, Webflow or other modern website hosting tools, marketing automation platforms, and attribution software. Curiosity and fluency with AI tools. Salary will vary depending on various factors, including, but not limited to, location, education, skills, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Kaizen’s total compensation package for employees, and other forms of compensation may include annual bonuses, commissions, and equity grants.
