JOB TITLE Senior Software Engineer, Infrastructure EMPLOYER Confidential Artificial Intelligence Company Recruitment managed by Kadir.ai LOCATION Remote — United States Candidates must be able to maintain approximately 70–80% working-hour overlap with either San Francisco or Singapore. EMPLOYMENT TYPE Full-time SALARY $100,000–$200,000 per year Relocation and visa support may be available for strong candidates. ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY Kadir.ai is recruiting a Senior Software Engineer, Infrastructure for a rapidly growing artificial intelligence company building infrastructure for reinforcement-learning training data and evaluations. This is not a traditional infrastructure-only position. The successful candidate will combine production-infrastructure experience with strong backend and systems-engineering judgment across services, APIs, databases, asynchronous workloads, queues, and production failure modes. You will help ensure that the company’s infrastructure and backend systems remain reliable, scalable, efficient, observable, and easy for engineers to use. WHAT YOU WILL DO Own production uptime, latency, reliability, and system performance Build and maintain cloud infrastructure on AWS Develop infrastructure using Terraform, Kubernetes/EKS, Helm, and Docker Work with EC2, CodeBuild, ECR, S3, IAM, networking, and secrets management Improve infrastructure provisioning speed and developer productivity Design systems for capacity planning, autoscaling, queues, and backpressure Improve retry behavior, cleanup processes, fault tolerance, and safe rollbacks Build and maintain reliable CI/CD and release-automation workflows Design dashboards, alerts, logs, traces, and service-level objectives Create runbooks and sustainable incident-response and on-call procedures Diagnose production failures across infrastructure and application layers Write maintainable code for backend services, automation, and internal tools Identify cloud-cost optimization opportunities Collaborate with software engineers, AI researchers, and operations teams REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Experience managing production infrastructure for a user-facing application Strong experience with AWS and containerized environments Hands-on experience with Kubernetes or Amazon EKS Experience with Terraform or another infrastructure-as-code platform Strong understanding of Docker and container orchestration Backend-engineering experience with services, APIs, and databases Understanding of queues, asynchronous systems, and distributed workloads Experience with CI/CD, release automation, and environment management Experience implementing monitoring, logging, tracing, dashboards, and alerts Familiarity with incident response and root-cause analysis Ability to write maintainable backend or automation code Strong debugging and systems problem-solving skills Ability to work independently and take ownership of production systems Availability for substantial working-hour overlap with San Francisco or Singapore PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Experience supporting data-heavy or artificial intelligence platforms Experience with bursty workloads and long-running jobs Experience operating distributed workers or sandboxed execution environments Familiarity with Helm, CodeBuild, ECR, S3, IAM, and AWS networking Experience with cloud-cost optimization Knowledge of backpressure, retries, cleanup, and safe rollback strategies Experience with Python, Go, TypeScript, or a comparable programming language Early-stage startup experience Open-source contributions, technical projects, or relevant research experience EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field is preferred Equivalent professional experience or a strong technical portfolio will be considered Graduate students and experienced recent graduates with substantial production, internship, research, open-source, or independent infrastructure experience are encouraged to apply Production ownership, technical judgment, and demonstrated systems ability are more important than a fixed number of years of experience WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE Production services remain reliable as workloads increase Infrastructure scales effectively during periods of high demand Engineers can provision, test, and release changes safely and efficiently Monitoring identifies issues before they significantly affect users Incidents are resolved quickly and followed by preventive improvements Infrastructure costs remain visible and appropriately optimized Backend and infrastructure systems are maintainable and well documented SELECTION PROCESS Application and résumé review Initial screening conversation Two technical interviews Two-to-three-day structured work trial Final decision and offer EQUAL OPPORTUNITY Kadir.ai is an equal opportunity recruiting partner.
