Overview JST is seeking a Director of Curriculum / Dean of Academics to support the central office. The Director of Education serves as the JST's enterprise authority for curriculum quality, instructional integrity, and learning innovation across government and commercial leadership development programs. This role is responsible for designing, governing, facilitating, and continuously improving scalable, assessment-driven curricula aligned to adult learning principles, Instructional Systems Design (ISD/ADDIE), and observable leadership behavior change. Operating as both a senior facilitator and practitioner, the Director of Education actively facilitates and instructs adult learners while ensuring instructional consistency, instructor excellence, and credentialed learning pathways. The role partners closely with the Program Manager to support growth, risk mitigation, and long-term sustainability. This is a full-time remote position that must have the ability and willingness to travel up to 25%–75% to support instruction, instructor development, and customer engagement. Director of Curriculum Responsibilities • Design, maintain, facilitate, and instruct adult learners using evidence-based adult learning theory and the Instructional Systems Design (ISD/ADDIE) model. • Serve as the academic authority and lead facilitator for leadership development programs across PME, government, and commercial environments. • Translate theory into practice through high-impact facilitation that drives engagement, reflection, and observable behavior change. • Ensure curriculum alignment to leadership competencies, behavioral outcomes, and customer mission requirements. • Develop and oversee scalable learning assets, including: • Lesson plans and end-to-end curricula • Train-the-Trainer programs • Micro-initiatives and applied learning tools • Facilitator guides and participant materials • Assessments aligned to observable leadership behaviors and performance outcomes • Analyze evaluation and outcome data to: • Identify instructional strengths, gaps, and delivery risks • Provide structured, actionable feedback to 1099 instructors and program leadership • Drive continuous improvement in facilitation methods, curriculum design, and learner impact • Ensure evaluation methodologies support defensible outcomes in government contracting and PME environments. • Establish and maintain academic and professional partnerships to secure: • Continuing Education Units (CEUs) • Continuous Learning Points (CLPs) • Credentialed learning pathways and stackable credentials • Position credentialing as a strategic differentiator across programs • Lead instructor quality standards for the 1099 instructional cadre by: • Defining certification, onboarding, facilitation standards, and refresher requirements • Ensuring instructional consistency and facilitation excellence across virtual and in-person delivery • Ensuring alignment across government and commercial offerings • Act as final authority on instructional readiness, facilitation quality, and faculty standards. • Partner with the Program Manager to: • Recruit, onboard, and refresh instructors from diverse professional backgrounds • Integrate faculty from government, industry, academia, and the commercial sector • Ensure instructors remain current with evolving leadership theory, facilitation practices, organizational dynamics, and industry trends • Support sustainable cadre growth while mitigating single-point-of-failure risks. Director of Curriculum Qualifications • Master's degree in Education, Organizational Leadership, Psychology, Human Development, or a related discipline. • Minimum of 20 years of progressive leadership experience, including but not limited to curriculum design, facilitation, instruction, coaching, and faculty development. • Demonstrated experience facilitating and instructing adult learners in professional, academic, PME, or executive education institutions. • Prior militaty experience or knowledge highly preferred • Prior formal teaching experience in adult education, higher education, PME, or equivalent professional learning settings. • Certified in the following psychometric assessment to include but not limited to: 4 Lenses, StrengthsFinder, Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, Change Style Indicator, Fundamental Interpersonal Orientation – Behavior, Thomas Killman Instrument, Campbell Leadership Index 360, Influence Style Indicator, Work Place Big 5, Decision Style Profile, Pearman, etc. • Certified Executive Coach with the International Coaching Federation (ICF), ACC minimum. • Demonstrated expertise applying ISD/ADDIE, and Kirkpatrick model to leadership development programs. • Proven ability to analyze learning data and translate insights into instructional and facilitation improvements. • Experience governing and supporting instructional cadres.
