Journey is hiring a mid-career parking and TDM strategist to join our growing West Coast practice. Summary Journey is seeking an experienced project manager and subject matter expert in parking policy, transportation demand management, and curbside strategy to support high-impact projects in the Bay Area, Los Angeles, and Seattle. This person will help lead: • Transit oriented communities’ compliance and parking maximums work. • TDM strategy in a variety of contexts, including for megaevents. This position reports directly to Journey’s Parking and TDM Practice Lead and will shape projects ranging from parking code reform and shared-parking analysis to major-event mobility planning and TDM program design. Although the portfolio is West Coast–centered, opportunities to support public- and private-sector clients nationwide will be available. We’re looking for someone who brings: • Deep fluency in innovative off- and on-street parking policy, curbside management, and TDM best practices • Experience with California regulatory compliance, including parking and TDM ordinances, zoning, and land-use codes • Strong project management skills and the ability to translate technical insight into client-ready policy and strategy Qualifications • Approximately ten years of parking and TDM planning experience – though we welcome applicants at differing experience levels and profiles who offer strong parking/TDM policy expertise. • Based in the Bay Area, Los Angeles, or Seattle. • Consulting and business development experience is strongly preferred but not required. • Experience drafting parking, land use, or zoning codes or ordinances—especially in California—is strongly preferred. • Experience with applying these concepts with real estate development, major events, and large employers is a plus. • A master’s degree in a planning-related field is common for this type of role, though it can be replaced by relevant experience.
