Sustainable Operations Manager - Energy Focus What this job involves: The Sustainable Operations Manager will have an energy focus will work directly with a client sustainability team, supporting energy and sustainability goals, targets, and initiatives. As a member of the JLL Sustainable Operations team, you will ensure our sustainability and energy services are effectively and efficiently delivered. You will act as an accelerator enabling our clients to increase engagement across stakeholders, progress towards goals, and achieve success with building performance. This role requires a programmatic approach to embed sustainability thinking and practices into real estate functional aspects (e.g., fit-outs, occupancy, maintenance, experience, etc.). What your day-to-day will look like: • Develop and execute energy management strategies, including ROI and ROM evaluations • Provide expertise in building energy efficiencies and decarbonization to drive operational improvements and reduce energy consumption • Lead implementation and continuous improvement of energy reduction and sustainability initiatives across client real estate portfolios, including development of tactical plans • Meet client objectives and ensure transparent processes for monitoring, measuring, and reporting performance • Provide strategic direction on implementing sustainability and energy services that meet client expectations, leveraging supply chain partners, internal collaborations, and the broader JLL Sustainability Platform • Own stakeholder engagement both internally and externally; establish strong working relationships • Network cross-functionally with other JLL service lines (technology, finance, projects, IFM, consultants, and procurement) to elevate the sustainability mission and drive implementation • Manage changes in partnership with stakeholders that may impact sustainability objectives • Track and communicate success stories to maintain awareness and engagement with the overall sustainability program • Demonstrate innovative thinking by continuously evaluating emerging sustainability and energy-efficient technologies to inform strategic planning and recommendations • Develop and enhance systems and processes for best practice sustainability performance using utility/sustainability management systems for monitoring and reporting • Provide SME input throughout planning and project phases to ensure energy and sustainability standards are incorporated appropriately • Leverage client tools and in-house JLL tools for problem-solving; identify and secure alternative tools as needs arise • Collaborate with other JLL energy managers to share best practices, develop case studies, and identify new business opportunities Qualifications Required: • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Energy Management, Sustainability, or related field • 5+ years of experience in energy management, building operations, or facilities management • Strong understanding of building systems (HVAC, lighting, controls, building automation) • Proficiency in energy analysis software and utility data management platforms • Exceptional analytical, communication, and project management skills with proven ability to present information to all levels of management • Proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and online software platforms with ability to conduct advanced data analysis Preferred: • Professional certifications such as Certified Energy Manager (CEM), LEED AP, or similar credentials • Experience with commercial real estate portfolios • Familiarity with IoT, smart building technologies, and renewable energy solutions • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and publishing best practice case studies • Self-starter with demonstrated ability to multi-task and deliver excellent customer service Location: Ideally located in Charlotte, Dallas or St. Louis. Travel locally across portfolios to support program requirements This position does not provide visa sponsorship. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship. Estimated compensation for this position: 100,000.00 - 115,000.00 USD per year This range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
