To support this growth, we are seeking an experienced VP of Sales & Marketing to lead our revenue strategy, scale our sales organization, expand into new territories, and strengthen our marketing engine. Reporting directly to the company President, the VP of Sales & Marketing is responsible for the development and performance of all sales activities. This position staffs and directs the sales team and provides leadership towards the achievement of maximum profitability and growth in line with the company’s annual budget, its vision, and its values. The VP of Sales & Marketing establishes plans and strategies to expand the customer base alongside the day-to-day management of the sales team. The individual will also contribute to the development of the team through sales training and mentoring them in the field. The individual should be dynamic, self-assured, and confident interacting with a full range of clients. The VP of Sales & Marketing will be a member of the Executive Team and will work closely with other members to create a vision and strategy for the company. Job Responsibilities Develops a business plan and sales strategy for the market that ensures attainment of company sales goals and profitability. Responsible for the performance and development of the sales team. Supporting the team to effectively close sales leads and develop new prospects. Initiates and coordinates development of action plans. Assists in the development and implementation of marketing plans as needed. Conducts one-on-one reviews with the sales team to build more effective communication, to understand training and development needs, and to provide insight for the improvement of all sales and activities. Provides timely feedback to senior management regarding performance. Pipeline management and reporting. Assists all sales personnel in preparation of proposals and presentations. Controls expenses to meet budget guidelines. Adheres to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes and ensures that they are communicated and implemented within the team. Interviews, recommends and hires sales team personnel based on criteria agreed upon by senior management. Job Qualifications 5+ years of sales leadership experience in POS, payments, retail tech, or SaaS. Proven success leading both sales and marketing functions. Strong understanding of merchant services, interchange, and payment processing is a plus. Experience selling into independent retailers—wine & liquor industry experience is a strong plus. Strong business acumen. Strong presentation and negotiating skills. Comfortable in a fast-moving, high-growth environment. Excellent communicator and coach with the ability to inspire teams. Track record of opening new geographic markets and scaling regional field sales teams. Proven leadership and ability to motivate and drive direct reports. Results driven and self-motivated with a ‘can do’ attitude and determination to ‘close the deal’. Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills with senior levels of the organization (internal and external). Data-driven mindset with strong Salesforce discipline. Demonstrated ability to influence actions and gain the support of others to meet objectives. Illustrates a strong sense of integrity and trust.
