Location: Milwaukee, WI (preferred) | / Remote (United States) Organization: Americas Field Procurement – Category Management Role Summary The Procurement Category Manager – Fire Domain is responsible for developing and executing category strategies for Fire Detection, Fire Suppression, and related field materials across Johnson Controls’ Field Operations in the U.S. and Canada. This individual contributor role owns significant spend, leads complex negotiations, and partners cross‑functionally to deliver cost, risk, and supply continuity objectives. Key Responsibilities • Develop and execute category strategies for Fire-related materials and services. • Lead supplier selection, contract negotiation, and contract lifecycle management. • Manage ~$75M–$100M+ in annual spend across U.S. and Canadian field branches. • Drive cost savings, productivity, TWC improvement, and supply risk mitigation. • Lead RFQs, pricing initiatives, and price increase governance. • Conduct spend analysis, market intelligence, and supplier benchmarking. • Partner with Field branches to introduce new products, suppliers, and technologies. • Support Field branches to expedite critical parts and keep track of OTD (On-time delivery) • Lead supplier performance reviews (QBRs) and escalation management. • Ensure compliance with procurement policies, DOA, and standard procedures. • Support supplier diversity and inclusion initiatives. Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field. • 6–9+ years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, or category management. • Experience with Fire, Life Safety, Electrical, or Construction-related categories preferred. • Proven success leading complex negotiations and cross-functional initiatives. • Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills. • Experience working in large, matrixed organizations preferred. HIRING SALARY RANGE: $89,000-$134,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.) This position includes a competitive benefits package. The posted salary range reflects the target compensation for this role.
