What you will do Johnson Controls is hiring! This role is a key part of the Digitalization and Service Enablement (DSE) team within the HVAC/R Chiller Engineering Organization. The DSE team is tasked in helping Johnson Controls do more with chiller data and provide expertise for valuable offerings to our customers and powerful tools to our internal teams. Service Growth is a strategic focus area of the enterprise, and the Digital Engineering Strategy Manager will support this focus area by pushing forward innovative initiatives around fault detection diagnostics, machine learning, energy monitoring, and others which can capture additional aftermarket revenue. The Digital Engineering Strategy Leader will support this work by coordinating with chiller product engineering teams to translate their subject matter expertise into methods for monitoring and servicing chillers with reduced human intervention. This includes finding ways to use chiller data to see potential issues before they happen across the portfolio of YORK chillers. Additional activities may involve chiller lab testing to create a proof of concept, data analysis, product design enhancements, and implementation of Digital Twin technologies. The Digital Engineering Strategy Manager will also need to work with teams outside of the chiller organization to incorporate new concepts into the OpenBlue Connected Chiller product offering enhancement roadmaps. These tasks require strategic problem-solving skills, strong communication skills, and the ability to clearly present information to engineering teammates, engineering managers, product management, digital software teams, and regional service teams. This person acts as business “owner” for service initiatives and is accountable for the successful execution of initiatives without having direct authority over the cross-enterprise resources required to deliver the results. The Chiller Service Business is global, and as such, this position should be well versed in global markets and requirements. We prefer to have this person onsite at our New Freedom, PA, facility, but we are also open to remote for the right candidate. How you will do it Lead cross-functional teams without direct supervision to drive the completion of digitalization programs and regularly report on the status of projects. Coordinate and execute test programs to validate potential methods of reducing human intervention for service and maintenance of chillers and their components. Analyzes, designs, modifies and/or troubleshoots mechanical sub-components and sub-systems based on test data. What we look for Required BS in Engineering, Data Science, or related field 7+ years of experience with program management for a product Experience in research environment and with product development processes Familiarity with digital technologies such as Connected Chillers, digital twins, artificial intelligence, and machine learning Understanding of technical concepts related to the large global air- and water-cooled chiller portfolio Highly motivated with ability to work independently and possesses a high drive for success Go-getter attitude Preferred Industry experience in chillers, HVAC equipment, or service HIRING SALARY RANGE: $100,000 - $150,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
