Job Title: SAP Finance Implementation Project Manager Location: Nashville, TN Employment Type: Contract (9 months with ability to extend) Job Overview: We are seeking an experienced SAP Project Manager to lead the implementation of a new SAP company code as we migrate from our legacy Oracle system to SAP ECC. This is a critical leadership role requiring proven project management expertise, strong knowledge of SAP Finance implementations, and the ability to coordinate cross-functional teams to deliver a successful migration on time and within budget. The ideal candidate will bring deep SAP project experience with a focus on Finance modules, demonstrated ability to manage complex system integrations, and the leadership skills to guide technical and business teams through a full implementation lifecycle. Key Responsibilities & Duties: Project Leadership & Governance • Lead all aspects of the SAP Finance implementation project from initiation through post-go-live support • Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, schedule, budget, resource requirements, and risk management strategies • Establish project governance framework, including steering committee meetings, status reporting, and escalation procedures • Define project milestones, deliverables, and success criteria; track progress and ensure accountability • Manage project budget and resource allocation, identifying and addressing variances proactively • Chair regular project team meetings, workstream reviews, and status update sessions Stakeholder Management • Serve as primary point of contact for project stakeholders across Finance, IT, and business units • Facilitate executive steering committee meetings and provide clear, concise project updates • Manage stakeholder expectations and ensure alignment on project scope, timelines, and deliverables • Build strong relationships with business leaders to ensure buy-in and active participation • Coordinate with external vendors, consultants, and implementation partners as needed Team Coordination & Management • Lead and coordinate cross-functional project team including SAP Architect, ABAP developers, functional analysts, and business users • Clearly define roles, responsibilities, and deliverables for all team members • Foster collaboration between technical teams (SAP, ABAP, infrastructure) and business stakeholders • Provide guidance and direction to ensure team members stay focused on project objectives • Facilitate conflict resolution and remove roadblocks that impede team progress Implementation Management • Guide the team through all project phases: Blueprint, Realization, Final Preparation, Go-Live, and Support • Oversee requirements gathering sessions and ensure business needs are clearly documented • Monitor configuration activities and integration development to ensure alignment with requirements • Manage the change control process, evaluating scope change requests for impact and approval • Coordinate testing activities including integration testing, user acceptance testing, and performance testing • Lead cutover planning and execution, including data migration, reconciliation, and go-live activities Integration & Interface Management • Oversee the design and implementation of interfaces between SAP and third-party systems, particularly the billing system interfacing with SAP FI-AR • Ensure integration points between FI/CO and MM-Procurement are properly planned and tested • Coordinate with application teams managing upstream/downstream systems • Track interface development progress and manage dependencies between systems Risk & Issue Management • Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate project risks throughout the implementation lifecycle • Maintain risk and issue logs with clear ownership, mitigation plans, and resolution timelines • Escalate critical issues to steering committee with recommended courses of action • Implement contingency plans when risks materialize Change Management & Communication • Develop and execute project communication plan for all stakeholder groups • Coordinate training strategy and ensure end users are prepared for go-live • Support organizational change management activities to drive user adoption • Document lessons learned and facilitate knowledge transfer to support organization Qualifications & Experience: • Bachelors Degree in computer science, engineering, business or equivalent experience required • Project Management certification preferred • Proven experience leading at least 2 full-cycle SAP Finance implementations from blueprint through go-live • Experience managing SAP ECC projects is required. Managing S/4HANA projects is a plus but not required • Demonstrated experience managing system migration projects • Experience facilitating business process workshops and requirements gathering sessions • Knowledge of data migration tools and methodologies (LSMW, Migration Cockpit, etc.) • Strong understanding of financial business processes including Record-to-Report, Order-to-Cash, and Procure-to-Pay • Expert proficiency with project management tools (MS Project, JIRA, Smartsheet, or similar) • Strong risk management and issue resolution capabilities • Excellent budget management and resource planning skills • Proven ability to manage scope, prevent scope creep, and handle change requests effectively Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities • Ability to work in a multicultural environment and a good English command is required
