POSITION DESCRIPTION DIRECT CLIENT Position Number of positions: 1 Length: 9-21 Months+ Work Address: 715N Immediate interviews (In Person Interview) Please Note this position is HYBRID looking for a full-time Data Analyst to support the District's efforts to establish a continuum of care implementation plan to address gaps in service delivery for youth involved in the juvenile justice system Position Description: • requires the services of a full-time Data Analyst to analyze qualitative and quantitative data to help support the agency's Continuum of Care project. The primary goal of the initiative is to support improved outcomes for youth and families by creating a plan to facilitate the development of a continuum of care for at-risk youth in the District of Columbia. The Data Analyst will collaborate with the Project Director as well as government and community stakeholders in D.C. to identify and collect data relevant to the development of a plan for the establishment of a continuum of care to address gaps in service delivery for youth involved in and at risk of involvement in the juvenile justice system. A well-resourced continuum of care should include a wide range of supports, from community-based prevention services for youth at risk of system involvement, to diversion and intervention services that prevent youth from penetrating deeper into the juvenile justice system, as well as re-entry services to help support with community reintegration following a period of detention. • The Data Analyst will organize and conduct research, and analyze data to support the creation of an implementation plan for the development of a continuum of care for at-risk youth in the District, that at minimum includes asset mapping, a gap analysis, qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis, and a report detailing the continuum of care plan with an implementation timeline. Specific Duties: • Attend monthly meetings with the Project Director and staff to update the agency regarding the status of the project, including progress and any challenges encountered. • Attend Planning Council meetings and collaborate with stakeholders to identify key data points for tracking and monitoring. • Collaborate with relevant agencies to collect and analyze selected data and identify trends. • Plan, organize and conduct qualitative research to support asset mapping and gap analysis. • Complete a literature review to identify best practices in juvenile justice. • Use collected and analyzed data to help inform Continuum of Care implementation plan. Required Skills And Experience • Required: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. • Required: 6 year of work experience in the social sciences, preferably specializing in criminal justice, juvenile justice, public health, social science, or behavioral sciences. • Required: 6 year of experience conducting research and evaluations using public health or justice system administrative data. • Required: Demonstrate an understanding of statistical concepts and their application in the analysis of public health and criminal justice data. • Required: Demonstrate programming language proficiency (R or Stata preferred), knowledge of database management and data visualization. • Required: Demonstrate an ability to work collaboratively, respond to stakeholders' needs, and regularly update stakeholders about project milestones. • Required: Demonstrate an ability to analyze information from disparate datasets to derive a comprehensive understanding of the research topic, identify trends and draw meaningful conclusions. • Required: Outstanding analytical skills, including an ability to analyze complex data sets, identify trends and draw meaningful conclusions. • Required: Outstanding communication skills, including an ability to present complex data in a way that is easily understood, clear and concise. Required/Desired Skills Candidates must have ALL the "Required" skills in order to be considered for the position. "Desired" or "Highly Desired" skills are a PLUS but may NOT be required.
