Full Description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Technical Program Manager, Security based in the United States. The Technical Program Manager, Security will be the first dedicated TPM focused on security, with the opportunity to build the function from the ground up. You’ll work across detection and response, corporate security, and product security to establish priorities, define success, and accelerate execution. The role serves as a critical bridge between security engineering and a broader engineering organization, translating risk and security requirements into actionable technical programs. You’ll help shape security tooling, vendor adoption, roadmaps, metrics, backlogs, and company-wide security priorities. As AI and new technologies introduce increasingly complex security considerations, your judgment will help balance development velocity with effective risk management. You’ll operate in a high-trust, high-expectation environment alongside experienced engineers and technical leaders solving complex, mission-critical problems. This is an opportunity for a technically strong program leader to have significant ownership and influence over a rapidly evolving security organization. \n Accountabilities Define, communicate, and maintain the security program strategy, priorities, objectives, and progress across the broader business. Establish program structures, metrics, and success criteria that enable security leadership to make informed prioritization and investment decisions. Manage priorities, backlogs, dependencies, and execution across detection and response, corporate security, and product security initiatives. Partner with security engineering leadership to develop roadmaps, establish program rituals, track progress, and remove cross-team blockers. Serve as the technical liaison between security engineers and the broader engineering organization, translating security risks and requirements into actionable technical priorities. Facilitate communication between specialized security teams and product engineering teams to ensure alignment and effective execution. Build strong working relationships and trusted communication channels with engineering stakeholders across the organization. Help evaluate and introduce new security tools, coordinating activities from vendor procurement through implementation and adoption. Drive programs that improve the effectiveness, scalability, and operational maturity of the security engineering organization. Help manage the tradeoffs between engineering velocity, security requirements, and emerging risks, including those associated with increasingly widespread AI tooling. Provide visibility into program status, risks, dependencies, and outcomes to technical and non-technical stakeholders. Support the development and maintenance of company-wide security priorities, including oversight of the Software Bill of Materials (SBOM) program. Requirements Previous experience as a Technical Program Manager or Product/Program Manager embedded within a security engineering organization. Experience working with security teams that build and operate technical tooling and systems internally. Strong understanding of computer engineering and technical fundamentals, with the ability to engage deeply with engineers on complex technical topics. Familiarity with security domains such as detection and response, corporate security, and product security. Demonstrated ability to define, structure, and communicate complex technical programs to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Strong prioritization, planning, backlog management, and organizational skills. Sound judgment when evaluating competing priorities, risks, dependencies, and business needs. Ability to operate as a trusted technical liaison between specialized security teams and a larger, distributed engineering organization. Strong cross-functional communication and relationship-building skills. Ability to work effectively in a high-trust, high-accountability environment with significant individual ownership. Comfortable navigating ambiguity and creating structure where processes and functions are still being established. Ability to balance technical depth with program-level thinking and business impact. Benefits $180,000–$230,000 annual salary range, adjusted based on location, level, experience, and interview performance. Meaningful equity opportunity. 401(k) matching. 100% coverage of medical, dental, and vision insurance premiums for employees and dependents. 12 weeks of paid parental leave for all parents, with no waiting period. Stipends supporting family-forming needs. Stipends for gender-affirming care. Unlimited Paid Time Off. Fully remote work environment. High-trust, high-ownership culture with significant responsibility and autonomy. Opportunity to build a new security program and establish foundational processes from the ground up. Exposure to complex security, privacy, telecommunications, engineering, and emerging AI challenges. Opportunity to collaborate with highly experienced engineers, architects, and technical leaders. Strong emphasis on professional ownership, innovation, and solving difficult technical problems. \n How Jobgether works: We use an AI-powered matching process to ensure your application is reviewed quickly, objectively, and fairly against the role's core requirements.
