We are seeking a highly skilled engineer to lead and advance search infrastructure for a large-scale consumer platform. This role offers the opportunity to design and implement robust, scalable, and high-performance systems that power critical search and recommendation features. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams including product, design, and infrastructure, while guiding and mentoring other engineers. Your work will directly influence the reliability, speed, and relevance of search experiences for millions of users. Accountabilities Lead engineering projects to improve the reliability, scalability, and performance of search infrastructure. Design and build the next-generation search platform to support multiple products and user experiences. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to align technical solutions with product goals. Mentor and guide engineers, fostering career growth, technical excellence, and knowledge sharing. Apply modern technologies, including GenAI and LLMs, to enhance search capabilities. Contribute to technical strategy, roadmap planning, and decision-making for search infrastructure. BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience. 9+ years of industry experience with a BS/MS, or 6+ years with a PhD. Expertise in search and recommendation systems, including designing for scalability and reliability. Experience applying GenAI/LLM technologies to search or related systems is a plus. Proven track record of leading engineering teams to deliver high-quality technical solutions. Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional partners. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to balance technical depth and system-wide impact. Competitive base salary: $204,000–$255,000 USD. Remote-eligible role with occasional on-site or offsite collaboration as needed. Bonus, equity, and Employee Travel Credits may be included as part of total compensation.
