This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Staff Software Engineer in the United States. This role offers the opportunity to provide technical leadership across multiple agile teams, driving the design, development, and delivery of complex software systems. The Staff Software Engineer will collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders to implement high-quality, scalable, and maintainable solutions. You will lead design reviews, mentor junior engineers, and influence technical strategy while ensuring adherence to best practices. This position is ideal for experienced engineers who thrive in dynamic environments, enjoy solving challenging problems, and are passionate about innovation and engineering excellence. Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills are key to success. Accountabilities: · Design, develop, and maintain complex, distributed software systems that are modular, scalable, secure, and user-friendly. · Lead multiple agile teams to deliver prioritized roadmap items, ensuring timely and high-quality execution. · Review and translate product requirements into robust software designs and conduct code reviews to uphold engineering standards. · Mentor and provide technical guidance to engineers across multiple teams, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence. · Collaborate with product managers to estimate effort, prioritize work, and deliver impactful features. · Champion operational excellence, performance, maintainability, and observability throughout the software development lifecycle. · Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience; Master’s degree preferred. · 7+ years of software engineering experience; 3+ years leading multi-team initiatives in distributed application systems. · Strong programming skills in languages such as Java, Python, Go, C++, or JavaScript. · Experience with data structures, algorithms, relational and NoSQL databases, and caching solutions. · Proficiency in APIs, microservices architecture, message queuing, data streaming, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure). · Hands-on experience with Spring Boot, software platforms, and Guidewire Policy Center or insurance domain experience is a plus. · Excellent problem-solving, analytical, communication, and leadership skills, with experience mentoring multiple teams. · Ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams and influence technical strategy and vision. · Competitive salary range: $105,245–$199,452 (depending on location and experience). · Flexible remote work across the United States. · Paid time off including vacation, sick leave, and company holidays. · Incentive bonus programs, including performance-based, holiday, and referral bonuses. · Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, life, and pet insurance. · 401(k) retirement savings plan with company match. · Professional and personal development opportunities, including education assistance. · Health and wellbeing resources, including therapy/coaching and child/eldercare support. · Company recognition programs and promotional opportunities.
