This role offers the opportunity to drive the development of large-scale, distributed data systems that power advanced analytics and machine learning in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment. You will design, build, and maintain robust data pipelines, process structured and unstructured data, and develop database models to support real-time and batch workflows. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will help architect scalable solutions, automate deployment pipelines, and ensure data quality across the platform. This position allows you to have a direct impact on decision-making, product delivery, and operational efficiency while contributing to a company shaping the future of clean energy technology. Accountabilities: Build and maintain data flow channels and processing systems to extract, transform, and load data from various sources. Develop data pipelines using technologies such as Airflow and implement real-time and batch data processing. Design and maintain database models, create new data schemas in Postgres, and manage migrations using TypeORM. Write GraphQL queries to interact with databases for data retrieval and updates. Build and automate DevOps pipelines for continuous integration and deployment using GitLab. Participate in system-level design discussions and present technical solutions to product teams. Debug, modify, and optimize code based on testing cycles, defect reports, and user acceptance testing. Collaborate with engineering, product, and operations teams to deliver high-quality, scalable data solutions. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Machine Learning, AI, Engineering Management, or related fields. 5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer, Data Analyst, Software Engineer, or a related role, with progressive responsibilities. Proven experience developing globally distributed data services platforms. Proficiency in Python, Go, Java, Rust, or Julia for data engineering tasks. Strong experience in building ETL/ELT pipelines, processing structured and unstructured datasets. Knowledge of large-scale data technologies such as Airflow, Luigi, Spark, Kafka, Elasticsearch, Cassandra, and relational databases (Postgres, MySQL, MongoDB). Skilled in SQL query authoring for analytics and data accessibility. Experience with root cause analysis, data architecture optimization, and integrating complex datasets. Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills in a cross-functional environment. Eligible to work in the United States; remote work is permitted.
