This role offers a unique opportunity to lead the design, development, and governance of scalable data platforms within a fast-growing technology environment. As a key member of the core platform engineering team, you will provide technical leadership in building reliable and compliant data systems that empower a global workforce marketplace. Your expertise in data architecture, governance, and software engineering will directly impact business success by ensuring data integrity and privacy. Collaboration and innovation will be central as you mentor others and drive continuous improvement in data processes. Accountabilities: • Provide technical leadership and guidance in designing data solutions aligned with business and governance requirements. • Develop scalable and compliant data architectures including data warehouses, big data platforms, and databases. • Champion data governance practices such as data lineage, metadata management, quality controls, and privacy compliance. • Collaborate with stakeholders to translate needs into robust data systems and tools. • Optimize data processing performance and automate workflows to improve efficiency. • Mentor junior engineers and promote a culture of governance awareness and compliance. • Maintain thorough documentation and share knowledge across teams to support continuous improvement and innovation. Requirements • 8+ years of software engineering experience focused on data engineering and large-scale data systems. • Strong proficiency with technologies such as MongoDB Atlas, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), BigQuery, Prefect, Typescript, and Python. • Deep understanding and practical experience with data governance frameworks and compliance regulations. • Proven ability to design and implement scalable data architectures with a focus on governance and security. • Excellent software engineering skills and modern development best practices. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly. • Leadership experience mentoring teams and driving successful project outcomes. • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
