As a Sr. Software Engineer on the Reference Data team, you will play a pivotal role in designing and implementing scalable data solutions that serve as a single source of truth for investment and market data. You will collaborate with cross-functional product and engineering teams to develop distributed systems, data pipelines, and platform architecture that drive business outcomes. Working in a fast-paced, Agile environment, you will help define best practices, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to the growth and scalability of the data platform. This role offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies including Python, PySpark, AWS, Terraform, Java, and Kubernetes, while delivering impactful solutions that support critical client decision-making processes. Accountabilities Design, develop, and deploy scalable, high-performance data solutions to meet business requirements. Partner with engineering leads and product teams to define and implement platform architecture that supports growth and scalability. Contribute to complex projects, ensuring alignment across distributed teams and systems. Serve as a technical thought leader, educating and sharing best practices with team members. Mentor and collaborate with other engineers to improve team performance and software quality. Evaluate strategic technology and business decisions to provide data-driven insights for both internal stakeholders and clients. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience. 5+ years of professional software engineering experience. Strong proficiency in Python and/or Java, with experience in distributed microservices development. Experience with databases, SQL, NoSQL, OLAP systems, and/or data lake architectures. Ability to manage complex projects involving cross-functional teams. Proven mentorship and collaboration skills within engineering teams. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a rapid learning aptitude. Interest in big-data processing, building data pipelines, and working with scalable distributed systems. Familiarity with Agile methodologies and cloud platforms (AWS preferred). Competitive salary range: $126,000 – $197,000, plus bonus, equity, and benefits.
