As a Senior Frontend Engineer, you will play a key role in shaping the customer-facing experiences across a comprehensive automotive commerce platform. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality, reusable, and performance-optimized frontend components that power multiple products. Collaborating closely with design, product, and backend teams, you will ensure a seamless, accessible, and intuitive experience for users. Accountabilities: Design, develop, and maintain responsive and accessible web applications using modern frontend frameworks. Lead frontend architecture decisions and establish reusable, scalable component libraries and design systems. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product, design, and backend engineers, to implement consistent UI/UX across platforms. Optimize application performance across browsers and devices, championing Core Web Vitals and frontend best practices. Contribute to the full software development lifecycle, including code reviews, testing, debugging, and documentation. Mentor and guide other engineers, promoting front-end best practices and technical growth. Integrate frontend applications with backend APIs and services, contributing full-stack support as needed. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience. 5+ years of experience in frontend or full-stack software engineering. Deep expertise in JavaScript/TypeScript and familiarity with frameworks such as React, Vue, Svelte, or similar. Strong knowledge of browser fundamentals: HTML, CSS (Flexbox, Grid), DOM, event lifecycle, rendering, and performance tuning. Experience designing and maintaining component-based design systems with theming, responsiveness, and accessibility considerations. Familiarity with performance optimization, testing, observability, and CI/CD pipelines. Solid understanding of backend integration, RESTful APIs, and authentication/authorization patterns (OAuth, JWT). Excellent collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to influence technical direction. Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation for incident resolution and system reliability. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with NextJS, Server-Driven UI (SDUI), or similar frameworks for web and mobile clients. Previous work in a platform or shared services organization.
