This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Sr. Java Developer in the United States. As a Sr. Java Developer, you will design, develop, and maintain secure, high-quality web applications that integrate multiple systems for federal government projects. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to analyze user needs, optimize operational efficiency, and implement best-in-class software solutions. This role requires hands-on coding expertise, a deep understanding of Java frameworks, and the ability to manage complex databases. You will contribute to both technical documentation and system design while following industry-standard coding practices. Your work will directly support mission-critical applications, ensuring secure and efficient operations for government stakeholders. \n Accountabilities: Develop and maintain browser-based applications integrating disparate systems for government clients. Write secure Java code in accordance with coding standards and project requirements. Analyze user needs and design software solutions to optimize operational efficiency. Create and maintain technical documentation to support projects. Develop and manage databases individually or as part of a team, ensuring effective data integration. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement, test, and deploy high-quality applications. Ensure adherence to security and compliance requirements throughout the software development lifecycle. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, or equivalent experience; 8+ years professional experience required, or 3+ years with a related Master’s degree. Hands-on experience with Java, JavaScript, Spring MVC, Spring Boot, ThymeLeaf, HTML5/CSS3, SQL/PLSQL, OpenShift, JBoss, Linux, Eclipse, Git, and Maven. Preferred experience with Jenkins, Nexus, SonarQube, and Rational CLM. U.S. Citizenship required; ability to obtain Minimum Background Investigation (MBI) clearance. Active Public Trust/MBI preferred. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills with attention to detail. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team-oriented environment. Commitment to secure coding practices and adherence to project-specific standards.
