This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Controller - REMOTE. This role is a strategic leadership position responsible for ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of all financial reporting. As a pivotal contributor, you will build and enhance processes, controls, and the technical foundation necessary for scalable operations in a fast-paced and innovative environment. Your impact will directly support the mission of driving academic success for learners across various educational sectors. \n Accountabilities Own and lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting. Maintain full ownership of the general ledger, financial statements, and all underlying accounting processes. Serve as the internal expert on US GAAP and technical accounting matters, including revenue recognition under ASC 606. Review customer contracts and establish appropriate accounting treatment and documentation. Lead the annual audit process and serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors. Coordinate with external advisors on tax filings and compliance matters across jurisdictions. Establish and maintain scalable accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls. Oversee billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and fixed assets to ensure accuracy. Own NetSuite as the core accounting system, driving optimization, data integrity, and process automation. Implement new accounting standards and ensure ongoing compliance. Build and document SOPs, strengthen processes, and continuously improve efficiency and reporting quality. Partner closely with Finance leadership and cross-functional teams to support growth and product evolution. Hire, develop, and manage the accounting team over time. Requirements CPA required. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including significant time in a Controller role. Deep expertise in US GAAP and technical accounting. Strong experience with revenue recognition (ASC 606) and contract review. Expert-level proficiency in NetSuite. Proven experience leading annual audits and collaborating with external auditors. Experience establishing accounting policies and processes in a high-growth environment. Strong preference for candidates who have built or scaled an accounting function in a venture-backed company. Advanced Excel skills and strong systems orientation.
