This role serves as the technical anchor for complex AI/ML and data engineering initiatives, bridging software development, cloud infrastructure, and mission-critical federal solutions. You will design solution architectures, develop prototypes, and ensure data pipeline and ML workflow integrity while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams. The position offers a unique opportunity to influence AI/ML platforms, improve dataset quality, and support high-impact programs in defense and intelligence domains. The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise with strong leadership, problem-solving skills, and a hands-on approach to delivering innovative solutions. Remote work is supported, with occasional travel for customer engagements and technical demonstrations. Accountabilities · Develop and document technical architectures, solution designs, and proposal narratives for AI/ML and data engineering initiatives. · Build and deliver prototypes and proofs-of-concept (MVPs) aligned with priority projects, integrating AI/ML workflows with cloud-based data pipelines. · Design, validate, and maintain datasets, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and alignment with defined quality metrics and assurance frameworks. · Implement dataset QA pipelines, including ontology alignment, annotation consistency, and bias detection. · Provide basis-of-estimate (BOE) inputs for labor, cloud usage, and dataset production, supporting capture and proposal processes. · Engage with customers and partners to translate mission requirements into actionable technical solutions. · Mentor engineers, lead cross-functional projects, and uphold high standards of engineering excellence across teams. · Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or related STEM field (Master’s preferred). · 7–10 years of experience in software or data engineering, with 5+ years in AI/ML pipeline design and implementation. · Strong programming skills in Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Go, or similar languages. · Hands-on expertise with AI/ML systems, multimodal data fusion, ephemeris data engineering, and mobile location data workflows. · Experience with cloud infrastructure, containerization, microservices, and distributed systems. · Proven experience developing and validating dataset quality metrics, producing “gold standard” datasets. · Knowledge of DoD/IC compliance frameworks (FedRAMP, RMF, IL5/IL6). · Excellent communication skills for technical proposal writing, presentations, and cross-team collaboration. · Leadership experience in mentoring engineers, managing complex projects, and establishing engineering processes. · TS/SCI security clearance required; CI Polygraph preferred. · Competitive base salary and performance-based incentives. · Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance. · Retirement savings plan with company match. · Flexible work arrangements with remote support. · Professional development opportunities in AI/ML, data engineering, and federal programs. · Paid vacation, holidays, and employee engagement programs. · Supportive, inclusive, and mission-driven work environment.
