This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Software Engineer (Senior/Staff) based in the United States. This is a senior-level full-stack engineering opportunity focused on building and evolving the core systems that power a high-scale technology business. You’ll work across critical backend services, customer-facing applications, internal systems, and new product initiatives where reliability and scalability are essential. The role offers broad technical ownership, from researching and defining problems through architecture, implementation, production support, and continuous improvement. You’ll collaborate closely with engineering, product, design, and other cross-functional teams while helping shape technical practices and engineering standards. The position is designed for an experienced engineer who can simplify complex problems, move efficiently, and deliver durable solutions across multiple technical domains. You’ll contribute to both established systems and greenfield initiatives, with meaningful influence over architecture, engineering practices, and product outcomes. Depending on experience and organizational impact, the role may be leveled at Engineer V (Senior–Staff) or Engineer VI (Staff–Principal). \n Accountabilities: Design, build, and maintain scalable applications using well-defined architectural patterns and engineering practices. Own technical problems end-to-end, from understanding requirements and researching solutions through implementation, deployment, and ongoing optimization. Develop and improve high-scale, high-availability systems that support core business operations and customer-facing applications. Rapidly diagnose and resolve production issues, applying strong debugging skills to maintain system reliability and minimize customer impact. Solve complex technical challenges across multiple domains while consistently looking for ways to reduce unnecessary complexity and improve engineering efficiency. Collaborate closely with Product, Design, Engineering, and other cross-functional teams to translate business and customer needs into effective technical solutions. Contribute to both existing and greenfield products, introducing innovative solutions where they can improve capabilities, scalability, or operational performance. Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including technical research, architecture, development, customer-oriented problem solving, and production support. Contribute to engineering practices, standards, processes, and architectural direction across the team or broader engineering organization. For higher-level scope, serve as a technical force multiplier by influencing engineering direction, mentoring peers, and helping evolve practices and principles across the organization. Requirements: 10+ years of professional software engineering experience for Senior/Staff-level consideration, with 12+ years generally expected for Staff/Principal-level scope. Extensive full-stack engineering experience and deep knowledge of multiple programming languages, with expert-level proficiency in at least one of Python, PHP, or JavaScript. Strong understanding of modern software engineering paradigms and architectural approaches, including object-oriented design, functional programming, design patterns, and related development principles. Experience working across a range of technologies and frameworks, with exposure to tools and platforms such as Puppeteer, ReactJS, Symfony, Flask, or comparable technologies. Strong ability to design and develop scalable, maintainable software systems using sound architectural patterns. Demonstrated experience solving complex technical problems across multiple domains and environments. Strong debugging and production-support capabilities, including the ability to rapidly identify root causes and implement effective solutions. Broad understanding of AWS and cloud infrastructure, with deep practical experience designing, deploying, or managing one or more areas of cloud infrastructure preferred. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with Product and other cross-functional stakeholders. Demonstrated maturity, autonomy, and judgment in navigating ambiguous technical challenges and making effective engineering decisions. Ability to simplify complex systems and problems, prioritize high-impact work, and consistently deliver effective solutions with efficient use of resources. For Engineer V scope, experience influencing engineering practices and serving as a technical force multiplier within a team. For Engineer VI scope, demonstrated ability to influence the broader engineering organization and take ownership of evolving engineering practices and principles. Experience in advertising technology or cybersecurity is a plus but is not required. Ability to work within five hours of Eastern Time, either ahead of or behind the EST time zone. Benefits: Competitive annual compensation ranging from $150,000–$220,000 for Engineer V (Senior–Staff). Compensation ranging from $180,000–$250,000 for Engineer VI (Staff–Principal).
