We are seeking a skilled Software Engineer to join a collaborative, remote-first team focused on delivering high-performance applications and services that support global operations. In this role, you will work across mainframe and distributed systems to maintain, enhance, and troubleshoot enterprise applications while contributing to the development of new features. You will play a key role in ensuring system reliability, performance, and scalability, supporting critical business operations around the clock. Accountabilities Provide 24x7 Tier 2 support for applications and systems, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Troubleshoot production and non-production issues, ensuring timely resolution and clear communication with stakeholders. Perform maintenance tasks including data uploads, historical migrations, batch job management, and database updates. Maintain and enhance COBOL programs, JCL scripts, and enterprise system integrations. Collaborate with business, product, and technical teams to analyze problems, assess risks, and implement solutions. Monitor system performance and respond to alerts using tools like Splunk, Grafana, and AWS CloudWatch. Generate performance metrics and reports to inform management decisions. Minimum 2+ years of experience in IBM Mainframe and distributed applications support, including 24/7 coverage. Strong expertise in IBM DB2, SQL, stored procedures, JCL, TSO/ISPF, Shell scripting, COBOL, CICS, Java, and batch processing. Experience with Control-M/EM Enterprise Scheduler, Linux, z/OS, VMware, MQ Series, and WebSphere. Familiarity with monitoring and ITSM tools (ServiceNow, Dynatrace, site24x7, SolarWinds). Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication skills, both technical and non-technical, with the ability to work across teams. Ability to prioritize urgent issues, take ownership of production problems, and provide workarounds under pressure. Proactive learner, collaborative team player, and willing to engage in knowledge-sharing. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
