This role is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining PolicyCenter applications to support business operations and product releases. The Software Engineer will collaborate with development and DevOps teams to ensure solutions are scalable, reliable, and integrated with third-party services. This hands-on position requires deep technical expertise in Guidewire PolicyCenter, strong programming skills in Java and Gosu, and the ability to translate complex technical concepts for stakeholders. Accountabilities: The Software Engineer will focus on developing and enhancing PolicyCenter capabilities while ensuring alignment with business goals: Design, implement, and maintain PolicyCenter application features and integrations. Develop new features to support multiple product/state releases, as well as regular enhancements and hotfixes. Collaborate with DevOps teams to establish and maintain AWS CodePipelines. Assess the business impact of technical design choices and provide strategic recommendations. Partner with Guidewire team leads and other developers to ensure high-quality implementation across applications. Facilitate meetings, share technical concepts with non-technical stakeholders, and support knowledge-sharing initiatives. Candidates should have strong technical expertise and relevant experience in Guidewire PolicyCenter: 2+ years of Guidewire PolicyCenter implementation experience. Guidewire PolicyCenter Certified Specialist or higher certification. Programming experience in Java and Gosu. Expertise in RESTful web services architecture. Experience with Jira, Jira Advanced Roadmaps, and Confluence for project tracking. Ability to plan, prioritize, and organize work across multiple projects. Strong communication skills to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience. Minimum of five years of software engineering experience, with hands-on full software development lifecycle expertise. Preferred: Knowledge of Property and Casualty Insurance domain.
