This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Software Engineer (NodeJs, TypeScript) in the United States. This role is ideal for a skilled engineer who thrives in building scalable, modern software systems from the ground up. You will work in a fully remote, high-impact environment, contributing to products that directly improve the financial health of thousands of users. The position combines hands-on coding, system architecture, and mentorship responsibilities, allowing you to influence both technical decisions and product strategy. You will collaborate with a distributed team of engineers and product leaders, solving complex problems and delivering high-quality solutions. Strong organizational, problem-solving, and technical skills are essential, as well as the ability to make strategic tradeoffs for long-term maintainability. Accountabilities: Architect, build, test, and maintain scalable systems using NodeJs, TypeScript, NestJS, and NextJS. Lead development of high-quality software products, including personal finance scenario builders and tax calculators. Manage complex integrations to ensure seamless user experiences and accurate financial reporting. Collaborate with product and engineering teams to shape product strategy and technical architecture. Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers, promoting best practices in system design and development. Ensure the delivery of robust, secure, and maintainable systems that meet stringent correctness requirements. Strong experience in building, deploying, and scaling modern serverless or container-based systems. Proficiency with NodeJs and TypeScript; familiarity with NestJS, NextJS, Terraform, CloudFormation, Postgres, and Redshift is preferred. Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and take ownership of projects from concept to production. Strong problem-solving skills and technical creativity to design elegant solutions under constraints. Good product sense, with the ability to weigh trade-offs and propose effective solutions. Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with distributed teams. Bonus: experience in fintech or personal finance applications, and knowledge of cloud-based architecture. Competitive salary: $165,000–$220,000, determined by role, experience, and location.
