This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Software Developer - Natural / ADABAS Modernization in the United States. We are seeking an experienced Software Developer to drive modernization initiatives for legacy Natural/ADABAS applications. In this fully remote role, you will design, develop, and maintain enterprise systems while transforming legacy code into modern architectures. The ideal candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement APIs, microservices, and cloud-based solutions, ensuring system reliability, scalability, and efficiency. This position offers the opportunity to work on impactful federal projects while leveraging modern development tools, DevOps practices, and cloud technologies in a dynamic, collaborative environment. Accountabilities Develop, maintain, and debug Natural/ADABAS applications while ensuring system stability and performance. Translate complex business logic into scalable technical solutions. Modernize legacy Natural code by rehosting or refactoring into modern languages such as Java, C#, or Python. Design APIs and microservices to enable legacy system modernization. Participate in cloud migration, containerization, and DevOps pipeline integration (e.g., Git, Jenkins, CI/CD). Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with technical standards and project goals. Support testing, documentation, and continuous improvement of enterprise applications. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field. 5+ years of experience in Software AG Natural development and ADABAS integration. Strong analytical skills with the ability to convert business requirements into technical solutions. Experience with modernization projects, including API/microservice design and cloud technologies (Docker, AWS). Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and version control. Preferred certifications: Software AG Natural/ADABAS, AWS Developer Associate, Security+, or equivalent. Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills in a remote environment.
