This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior/Staff Software Engineer, Frontend (ACF) in the United States. In this role, you will design and implement high-quality frontend solutions that enhance digital services for public users and partner organizations. You will work in a collaborative, remote-first environment with cross-functional teams including designers, product managers, and other engineers. Your contributions will directly improve the accessibility, performance, and usability of software systems, ensuring that technology serves real people effectively. You will play a pivotal role in shaping system architecture, implementing scalable solutions, and mentoring teammates. Your work will contribute to the delivery of reliable, secure, and maintainable software systems with meaningful public impact. Accountabilities: Engineer frontend software as part of a cross-functional team to deliver user-centered solutions. Apply lean-agile engineering principles including API-first design, continuous integration, automated testing, and version control. Select and implement the most suitable frameworks, languages, and technologies, with a preference for open-source solutions. Analyze and improve system performance, reliability, and maintainability, addressing technical debt and instability. Collaborate closely with designers, product managers, and other engineers to ensure alignment on product goals and user needs. Maintain a user-focused approach, considering the impact and implications of your code on end users. Strong experience writing clean, reusable, and high-quality frontend code. Knowledge of automated testing practices and secure, compliant software development. Foundational understanding of data engineering and managing persistent data in software systems. Ability to design systems with performance, reliability, and availability in mind. Excellent collaboration and communication skills in professional services or client-facing environments. Passion for improving public services through technology and alignment with core organizational values. Nice-to-have: Experience with cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, infrastructure as code (e.g., Docker, Terraform), multiple programming languages, full-stack development, civic tech projects, or remote-team collaboration.
