Full Description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior/Staff Software Engineer based in United States. This role is focused on designing, building, and scaling the core software systems behind complex claims identification, case management, and recovery workflows. You will tackle challenging engineering problems in a data-intensive and highly regulated healthcare environment. The position combines backend development, distributed systems, workflow automation, cloud infrastructure, and AI/ML integrations. You will build resilient production services that process large volumes of transactional and healthcare data while supporting critical operational workflows. Working closely with product, engineering, data science, and business teams, you will turn complex requirements into practical and scalable solutions. This is a high-ownership opportunity for an experienced engineer who values reliability, simplicity, and meaningful technical impact. \n Accountabilities: Design and implement backend services, APIs, and orchestration workflows supporting claim identification, case routing, and operational processes. Build scalable systems that integrate AI/ML models, legal datasets, and large volumes of transactional and healthcare data. Develop durable, fault-tolerant workflows using Temporal and related workflow orchestration technologies. Write clean, maintainable, secure, and high-performance code using Python, FastAPI, TypeScript, and Next.js. Maintain and optimize AWS cloud infrastructure, including ECS, RDS/Postgres, Redis, and secure deployment pipelines. Collaborate with product and business stakeholders to understand operational needs and translate them into effective engineering solutions. Apply strong engineering practices across testing, documentation, version control, code review, and production maintenance. Evaluate and introduce technologies that can improve system reliability, scalability, and operational efficiency while maintaining a simple and sustainable architecture. Contribute to the design and evolution of resilient systems in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment. Requirements: 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, ideally focused on backend or full-stack development. Strong proficiency in Python and experience with modern web frameworks such as FastAPI, Django, or Flask. Experience designing, building, and maintaining production systems in cloud environments, preferably AWS. Familiarity with distributed systems, workflow orchestration, and event-driven architectures. Experience working with production-grade databases, APIs, cloud services, and reliable deployment processes. Ability to design secure, maintainable, scalable, and fault-tolerant systems in a fast-paced environment. Strong problem-solving skills and a preference for practical, simple, and elegant technical solutions. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate directly with product, business, engineering, and data science teams. Comfortable taking ownership of complex technical problems and driving solutions from design through implementation and production. Experience with technologies such as Temporal, AWS ECS, PostgreSQL, Redis, TypeScript, or Next.js is highly valuable. Benefits: Full-time employment opportunity. Remote/work-from-home flexibility. Hybrid work options available in New York City and South Florida. Opportunity to work on complex engineering challenges involving AI, healthcare data, legal technology, and workflow automation. High level of technical ownership and influence over core production systems. Opportunity to collaborate closely with engineering, product, business, and data science teams. Ability to contribute to the architecture and technology direction of a growing engineering organization. \n How Jobgether works: We use an AI-powered matching process to ensure your application is reviewed quickly, objectively, and fairly against the role's core requirements.
