You will guide a team of engineers while shaping architecture, technical standards, and the platform roadmap in partnership with key stakeholders. The role spans shared services, authentication and authorization, configuration, infrastructure, and secure build and deployment workflows. You will focus on scalable solutions that help engineering teams deliver software more efficiently, reliably, and safely. As a technical lead, you will balance hands-on engineering with cross-team influence and long-term architectural thinking. You will also help define how AI-powered development tools are adopted, governed, and secured across the engineering organization. This is an opportunity to contribute to technology that directly supports better healthcare operations and patient outcomes. \n Accountabilities Lead the technical direction of the Web Applications Platform team, establishing architectural principles, engineering standards, and a scalable technical roadmap. Own and evolve shared platform services, including authentication, authorization, identity, configuration, and other capabilities used across multiple applications. Design and maintain reliable build, deployment, and delivery workflows for applications operating in isolated customer environments. Partner with engineering teams and stakeholders to identify opportunities for platform improvements and deliver solutions that increase developer productivity, reliability, and operational safety. Drive cross-team architectural initiatives that create leverage across multiple applications and engineering groups. Remain hands-on by writing production code, infrastructure configurations, and technical solutions where needed. Break down complex projects, estimate and sequence work, communicate progress, and ensure initiatives are delivered effectively. Establish standards and guardrails for the use of AI coding tools, including defining useful development context, security practices, and responsible adoption patterns. Collaborate with engineering leadership and other technical teams to ensure platform decisions support long-term scalability, security, and compliance. Requirements 5+ years of experience building and operating production software in a professional engineering environment. Experience working on platform engineering, infrastructure, internal tools, developer tooling, or other developer-facing teams. Strong hands-on expertise with Python, Django, and FastAPI. Deep experience with Kubernetes and GitOps-based delivery, including technologies such as Helm and ArgoCD. Demonstrated experience designing, implementing, or operating authentication and authorization systems. Strong project management capabilities, including breaking down complex initiatives, estimating effort, sequencing work, and communicating clearly about progress and risks. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence technical decisions beyond a single engineering team. Experience with multi-tenant SaaS environments is a strong plus. Familiarity with Backstage, internal developer portals, service scaffolding, or similar developer productivity tooling is beneficial. Knowledge of healthcare technology and standards such as HIPAA, PHI/PII, Epic, Cerner, or SMART on FHIR is advantageous. Experience with Terraform, Jenkins, Datadog, APM platforms, or comparable infrastructure and observability technologies is a plus. Experience building or implementing AI-assisted developer tooling, including MCP servers, coding agents, evaluation frameworks, spec-driven workflows, or shared knowledge systems, is highly desirable. Benefits Base salary range of $180,000–$200,000 USD. Open Paid Time Off. Paid parental leave. Professional development opportunities and support. Wellness and technology stipends. Generous employee referral bonus. Employee stock option awards. Opportunity to work with a mission-driven, globally distributed engineering team.
