In this role, you will design, develop, and optimize distributed systems capable of handling massive data volumes while maintaining exceptional reliability and performance. You will work on critical infrastructure that supports asynchronous communication across a global platform, partnering with engineering, machine learning, data science, and product teams. The ideal candidate is passionate about distributed systems, operational excellence, and creating resilient technology at internet scale. \n Accountabilities Design, develop, and maintain large-scale messaging and streaming infrastructure supporting high-volume asynchronous communication across distributed services. Contribute to long-term technical strategies and architectural decisions that enable continued platform growth and reliability. Build and optimize infrastructure responsible for handling high-throughput message production and consumption workflows. Own and improve managed and self-hosted messaging platforms, including operational tooling, automation, monitoring, and reliability improvements. Develop new features, performance optimizations, and bug fixes for distributed messaging systems. Collaborate with engineering, machine learning, data science, search, and product teams to create scalable technical solutions. Improve system availability, efficiency, and resilience while maintaining a strong reliability standard. Participate in technical discussions, design reviews, and initiatives that improve engineering practices and infrastructure capabilities. Requirements 5+ years of experience building internet-scale software systems, distributed infrastructure, or large-scale backend services. Strong software development experience with one or more general-purpose programming languages such as Golang, Python, C++, or Java. Experience designing, implementing, and troubleshooting distributed systems and messaging platforms. Hands-on experience working with technologies such as Kafka and Kubernetes; experience with Strimzi is a strong advantage. Proven ability to develop scalable solutions, optimize system performance, and resolve complex technical challenges. Strong understanding of infrastructure operations, automation, and reliability best practices. Experience collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams, including engineering, data science, machine learning, and product stakeholders. Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or an equivalent technical discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
