In this role, you will be instrumental in designing and implementing the next generation of identity and access management solutions for large-scale, security-sensitive environments. You will architect and deliver IAM platforms that support enterprise-grade RBAC, MFA enhancements, unified identity across products, and seamless onboarding flows for highly technical users. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you’ll ensure intuitive, secure, and scalable access management tailored to demanding AI and cloud workloads. Accountabilities · Lead the design and implementation of secure, scalable IAM systems, including authentication, authorization, and lifecycle management. · Build and refine access control models, such as RBAC, ABAC, and advanced permission frameworks. · Integrate third-party identity platforms (Okta, Auth0, WorkOS) at scale while customizing solutions to fit enterprise needs. · Develop and deploy features end-to-end, from system design through monitoring in production. · Collaborate with product, security, and engineering teams to ensure IAM capabilities align with business and compliance requirements. · Continuously improve user experience for highly technical ML/AI cloud customers while maintaining stringent security standards. · 8+ years of backend or platform engineering experience, including at least 3 years leading IAM initiatives. · Deep knowledge of IAM protocols and technologies, including OIDC, OAuth2, SAML, MFA, SCIM, and identity lifecycle management. · Strong system architecture skills for distributed, multi-tenant SaaS environments. · Experience integrating and scaling identity platforms such as Okta, Auth0, or WorkOS. · Programming expertise in Python, Go, or equivalent, with hands-on use of infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Crossplane, etc.). · Proven track record of delivering IAM solutions in high-uptime, security-sensitive environments. · Bonus: experience with IAM in ML/AI or cloud infrastructure, multi-cloud identity solutions, open-source IAM contributions, or mentorship/leadership experience. · Competitive annual salary: $255K – $395K (San Francisco) or $230K – $356K (Seattle). · Equity compensation in a rapidly growing, high-demand company. · Health, dental, and vision coverage for employees and dependents. · Flexible Paid Time Off that employees are encouraged to use. · 401(k) plan with 2% company match (for U.S. employees). · Wellness and commuter stipends for select roles. · Hybrid schedule: 4 days in-office per week, with Tuesday as the current remote workday.
