This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior Software Engineer, Data Platform in the United States. As a Senior Software Engineer on the Data Platform team, you will design and build the core systems that power enterprise-scale data products. You will have the opportunity to shape the architecture of a high-performance, reliable data platform while working closely with cross-functional teams to enable data-driven features across the organization. This role emphasizes both strategic technical leadership and hands-on engineering, solving complex challenges involving large-scale datasets, distributed systems, and modern data technologies. You will contribute to designing APIs, frameworks, and infrastructure that ensure scalable, fault-tolerant data processing and drive measurable business impact. Your work will support innovation, reliability, and efficiency for internal and external data products at scale. Accountabilities Design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance data services and infrastructure. Build clean, well-tested software for ingestion, transformation, and serving of large-scale datasets. Engineer high-availability and fault-tolerant systems for data processing and storage. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate with upstream systems and enable data-driven features. Evaluate and implement distributed storage, compute, and query technologies to optimize platform performance. Continuously improve platform reliability, efficiency, and observability through automation and monitoring. Build APIs, frameworks, and libraries to standardize data processing and access across teams. B.S. in Computer Science or related technical field (or equivalent experience). 5+ years of experience as a Software Engineer or Data Engineer building production systems at scale. Strong software engineering fundamentals: design patterns, testing, debugging, code quality, and performance optimization. Proficiency in one or more programming languages (Python, Java, Scala, or similar). Hands-on experience with big data technologies (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, Spark, Hadoop/Hive). Strong SQL skills; experience with Snowflake is a plus. Familiarity with modern data tooling (e.g., dbt, Kafka, Kinesis) is desirable. Experience with CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, Azure) is a plus. Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
