This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior Software Engineer, Customer Success (CDC) in the United States. As a Senior Software Engineer on the Customer Success team, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the success and smooth operation of critical public health software systems. You will serve as a technical expert and trusted advisor to state, tribal, local, and territorial partners, providing hands-on support, troubleshooting, and guidance for onboarding and day-to-day operations. This position sits at the intersection of engineering, customer engagement, and technical support, offering the opportunity to directly improve public health infrastructure. You will contribute to system modernization, monitor and resolve technical issues, and collaborate with engineering teams to implement improvements. This role provides exposure to large-scale, production environments and allows you to make a tangible impact on public health outcomes while working remotely in a collaborative and mission-driven environment. Accountabilities Provide hands-on technical support to public health partners, including system troubleshooting, configuration updates, and modernization guidance. Facilitate onboarding and transitions from legacy systems, including data migration and integration support. Triage, document, and escalate incoming support tickets according to SLAs, ensuring timely resolution. Analyze and respond to defect and enhancement requests, coordinating with engineering teams to implement solutions. Contribute to ongoing software improvements, reviewing pull requests, participating in agile ceremonies, and advocating for lean-agile engineering practices. Identify technical debt, reliability issues, and improvement opportunities, designing and communicating effective solutions. Experience in technical support, helpdesk, or customer success engineering for large-scale production systems. Familiarity supporting mission-critical or legacy modernization efforts, preferably in government or public sector environments. Strong troubleshooting skills across multiple technical stacks (e.g., Java, React, SQL, cloud environments). Ability to write clean, reusable code and apply automated testing practices. Understanding of secure, compliant software development practices. Foundational knowledge of data engineering and system integration principles. Strong communication skills and ability to work with clients and stakeholders effectively. Willingness to travel occasionally and participate in meetings across time zones as needed. U.S. work authorization required; some contracts may require public trust or security clearance. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with STLT public health systems, CDC-related IT systems, cloud deployments (AWS/Azure), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and public health data standards (HL7).
