Accountabilities As a Senior Software Engineer (Back-end), you will: Design, build, and maintain backend services and APIs, primarily leveraging Elixir/Phoenix, with exposure to Go, NodeJS, and other technologies. Support existing products while contributing to the development of new features and system improvements. Collaborate with frontend teams (React/GraphQL/Relay) to ensure seamless integration with backend systems. Engineer solutions to collect and process business-critical metrics from various consumer-facing digital experiences. Work closely with cross-functional teams, including legal, business development, and product, to gather requirements, provide updates, and deliver high-quality solutions. Participate in technical strategy discussions, helping define project vision and software architecture. Ensure reliability, scalability, and security of backend systems deployed on AWS and managed with Terraform. Candidates should have: Strong experience in backend software development, with proficiency in at least one programming language such as Go, Python, Ruby, Elixir, Rust, or Clojure. Experience building full-stack web applications and a solid understanding of web technologies (HTTP, cookies, CSP, CORS). Strong relational database fundamentals and experience querying large datasets (e.g., PostgreSQL, BigQuery). Comfort working in Linux environments and using the command line. Experience collaborating in cross-functional, remote-first teams and effectively communicating with stakeholders. Curiosity and willingness to learn new languages, frameworks, and cloud technologies (AWS preferred). Preferred experience includes: security or penetration testing, frontend frameworks like React or Angular, and deploying systems on cloud infrastructure.
