This is a hands-on leadership opportunity to shape and scale IT operations for a globally distributed organization. You will lead a small, high-impact team while remaining close to day-to-day technology operations and problem-solving. The role spans infrastructure, identity and access management, endpoint and SaaS tooling, security, and employee technology experience. You’ll work closely with Engineering, People, Legal, and Finance to build reliable, secure, and scalable internal systems. You’ll also help strengthen compliance practices and establish operating rhythms that improve accountability and visibility. The ideal environment is fast-moving and evolving, giving you meaningful ownership over both strategy and execution. This role is well suited to a player-coach who enjoys improving systems, developing people, and turning operational challenges into scalable solutions. \n Accountabilities: Lead day-to-day IT operations and ensure a reliable, secure, and high-quality technology experience for employees across a distributed workforce. Manage, mentor, and develop a small IT team, providing clear priorities, guidance, coaching, and hands-on support when needed. Partner with Engineering, People, Legal, Finance, and other stakeholders to address onboarding, access, tooling, security, and employee technology needs. Drive improvements across identity management, device management, endpoint security, SaaS applications, and other core IT systems. Support security and compliance initiatives, including frameworks such as SOC 2 and ISO 27001, in collaboration with internal stakeholders. Identify operational inefficiencies and implement scalable processes, systems, and automation that improve speed, consistency, reliability, and employee experience. Establish and maintain effective IT operating rhythms, including SLAs, ticketing workflows, documentation, reporting, and accountability mechanisms. Balance strategic planning with hands-on execution, stepping into escalations and complex technical challenges when required. Continuously evaluate the internal technology environment and identify opportunities to improve performance, security, and scalability. Requirements 7+ years of professional IT experience, including experience leading, managing, or mentoring others in an IT team environment. Strong player-coach mindset, with the ability to lead a team while remaining comfortable with hands-on technical execution and troubleshooting. Experience working in high-growth, startup, or similarly dynamic environments where processes and systems are continually evolving. Solid understanding of modern IT infrastructure and tooling, including identity providers (IdP), mobile/device management (MDM), endpoint detection and response (EDR), VPN, data loss prevention (DLP), and SaaS environments. Experience supporting or partnering on information security and compliance programs such as SOC 2 and ISO 27001. Strong operational judgment, with the ability to prioritize competing demands, manage resources effectively, and consistently move important work forward. Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to collaborate across functions in a remote and asynchronous environment. A proactive, systems-oriented approach and a demonstrated ability to identify inefficiencies and turn them into practical, scalable improvements. Strong leadership, coaching, and organizational skills, with the ability to develop team members and create clarity in a changing environment. Benefits Compensation: $158,000–$180,000 USD for the stated range, with compensation varying by market zone, experience, skills, and other relevant factors. Listed zone ranges include $189,000–$216,000 for Zone 1, $173,000–$198,000 for Zone 2, and $158,000–$180,000 for Zone 3. Wellness: Wellness and remote-work stipends designed to support employee well-being and an effective home working environment.
