We are seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead and grow a team of talented software engineers focused on building and optimizing a high-performance data platform. This role combines technical expertise and leadership to drive architecture, strategic initiatives, and operational excellence across large-scale, complex, and highly available data environments. You will guide the design, development, and delivery of real-time and batch data pipelines, advanced analytics solutions, and cloud-based data infrastructure. The ideal candidate is a proven technical leader who can mentor engineers, foster innovation, and collaborate across teams to ensure scalable, reliable, and high-quality data solutions. Accountabilities Lead, mentor, and grow a team of data engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement. Define and execute the roadmap for the data platform in collaboration with product management, architects, and other engineering leaders. Contribute to the architectural vision, ensuring high availability, scalability, fault tolerance, and security of data systems. Provide technical guidance on complex data engineering challenges, including data ingestion, transformation, warehousing, and analytics. Establish and enforce best practices for software development, data governance, and data quality, promoting Agile/Scrum methodologies. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data needs and deliver effective solutions. Oversee operational health of the data platform, including monitoring, alerting, on-call responsibilities, and incident response. 10+ years of industry experience with at least 4+ years managing multiple engineering teams in large-scale, complex environments. Proven track record of leading, mentoring, and growing high-performing engineering teams. Strong background in data architecture, design patterns, reliability, and scaling of complex data systems. Hands-on experience with real-time and batch data pipelines and technologies such as Snowflake, Athena, ClickHouse, Flink, Kafka, and Airflow. Proficiency with big data tools like Spark, Python, DBT, SQL, and Snowpark for advanced analytics workloads. Familiarity with Generative AI applications in data workflows and quality/transformation tools. Experience with CI/CD, observability, monitoring platforms, and operational metrics reporting. Knowledge of shift-left data governance principles, metadata management, and data catalogs. Strong communication, collaboration, and cross-functional leadership skills. Experience with cloud infrastructure (Azure, AWS, or GCP). B.S., M.S., or PhD in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
