This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior Director, Portfolio Management, Oncology in the United States. This role is responsible for shaping and executing a comprehensive oncology product and technology portfolio strategy within a dynamic diagnostics environment. The Senior Director will drive innovation by leveraging market insights, competitive analysis, and voice-of-customer research to prioritize portfolio investments. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams—including R&D, regulatory, commercial, and medical affairs—to guide the development and launch of impactful oncology solutions. This position requires strategic foresight, strong business acumen, and the ability to influence stakeholders across global operations. It offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to life-changing diagnostics and precision medicine initiatives while working in a flexible, remote-enabled environment. Accountabilities Develop near- and long-term oncology portfolio strategies aligned with organizational goals. Collect, synthesize, and communicate market research and customer insights to guide portfolio decisions. Recommend investment priorities, target product profiles, and feature prioritization for oncology products. Collaborate with product teams and cross-functional stakeholders (sales, marketing, R&D, regulatory, medical affairs) to execute product development and commercialization plans. Monitor and optimize the oncology portfolio, anticipating trends and evolving customer needs. Build and maintain a network of key external experts, partners, and collaborators to validate innovations. Lead strategic initiatives for portfolio optimization, market shaping, and evidence generation to drive adoption of products and services. Contribute to multi-modal technology roadmaps and identify collaboration or acquisition opportunities to enhance portfolio strategy. Bachelor’s degree in science, marketing, or a related field; advanced degree or business education preferred. 10+ years of experience in healthcare product development, portfolio management, or product marketing, ideally in diagnostics or life sciences. Deep knowledge of oncology patient journeys, market landscapes, and competitive environments. Experience with stage-gate product development processes and regulatory compliance (US FDA and international standards). Strong financial acumen with P&L responsibility experience. Proven ability to lead, influence, and communicate effectively across matrixed organizations and executive leadership. Exceptional strategic thinking, problem-solving, and storytelling skills. Ability to navigate ambiguity and drive results in a fast-paced, global environment. Preferred: experience in diagnostics commercialization, global marketing, and cross-functional leadership in biopharma or life sciences. Competitive salary range: $250,000 – $275,000.
