This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior Desktop Engineer in the United States. This role offers an exciting opportunity to design, manage, and optimize desktop environments across large-scale, multi-site operations. The Senior Desktop Engineer will be responsible for supporting MacOS and Windows 11 platforms, implementing automation, securing endpoints, and ensuring operational efficiency. This role combines project delivery, ongoing support, and collaboration with IT and security teams, enabling smooth and secure operations across the organization. Candidates will work in a dynamic, hybrid/remote environment, leveraging scripting, automation, and endpoint management expertise to enhance system performance and reliability. Accountabilities The Senior Desktop Engineer will: Manage and maintain a large fleet of MacOS and Windows devices, including Windows 11 in Azure AVD and Windows 365 environments. Package applications, secure operating systems, and implement endpoint management tools to maintain security and compliance. Develop, maintain, and optimize scripts using Bash, Python, and PowerShell for automation, system tuning, and operational efficiency. Monitor logs and system data to make informed decisions that improve performance and reliability. Collaborate with IT and security teams to ensure adherence to company policies and industry best practices. Support desktop-related troubleshooting and provide guidance on technical solutions across multiple sites, including international locations. Stay current with emerging technologies and recommend solutions to enhance desktop operations. Apply best practices for incident, problem, change, configuration, and asset management. Candidates should possess: Minimum of 10 years’ experience designing, building, and supporting desktop environments. Expertise in MacOS device management using Jamf or Kandji, and in Intune for Windows environments. Strong skills in application packaging, system security, and automation-first approaches. Proficiency in Bash, Python, and PowerShell scripting; familiarity with Gitlab or other source control tools is preferred. Experience with system tuning, performance optimization, and large-scale endpoint management. Knowledge of change control processes and data-driven decision-making. Experience in multi-site environments, including medium or large enterprises managing thousands of endpoints. Certifications such as Kandji Certified Admin, Microsoft 365 Certified: Endpoint Administrator Associate, or Apple Certified IT Professional are a plus. Ability to work in a hybrid/remote setup within North America.
