This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior Data Engineer in the United States. We are seeking a talented Senior Data Engineer to help transform complex datasets into actionable insights that empower both internal teams and external stakeholders. In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain analytics-ready data pipelines, build reusable models, and ensure data quality across a growing platform. You will collaborate closely with product, engineering, and analytics teams to define key metrics, translate business questions into reliable datasets, and support data-driven decision-making. Ideal candidates are skilled in SQL, dbt, and workflow orchestration tools, with experience in fast-paced, collaborative environments. Accountabilities Design, develop, and maintain dbt data models that support analytics workflows and internal reporting. Build and manage ETL pipelines using Airflow or similar workflow orchestration tools. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define business logic, key metrics, and ensure data accuracy. Own the end-to-end lifecycle of datasets, including ingestion, transformation, testing, and documentation. Implement robust monitoring, alerting, and testing to ensure high data quality and reliability. Translate business questions into performant queries and analytics-ready datasets. Support discoverability of data through clear definitions, lineage tracking, and documentation. Partner with stakeholders to provide trusted datasets for dashboards, ad hoc analysis, and experimentation. 4+ years of professional experience as a data engineer or in a similar role. Expertise in SQL and building modular, reusable dbt models. Experience with workflow orchestration tools, such as Airflow. Proven ability to collaborate with product, engineering, and analytics teams to translate requirements into technical solutions. Experience designing, building, and maintaining analytics-ready datasets and pipelines. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. Familiarity with AI, LLMs, or automation tools is a plus. Excellent written and verbal communication skills for remote collaboration. Preferred Additional Experience: Experience contributing to metrics layer design. Familiarity with distributed computing, such as PySpark on Databricks. Background in political campaigns, civic tech, or public policy. Passion for mission-driven work and solving complex societal problems.
