This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior Backend Engineer in the United States and Canada. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to cloud-based software solutions that are shaping the future of the energy sector. You will work on designing, developing, and deploying scalable, reliable, and maintainable software products, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams including product management, design, and quality assurance. Accountabilities As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will: • Design, develop, test, and deploy cloud-based software solutions for the energy industry. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure software meets business requirements and customer needs. • Perform code reviews, review bug fixes, and contribute performance tuning for high-quality deliverables. • Identify technical risks, propose solutions, and support development leads in mitigating project challenges. • Integrate with third-party systems via APIs and manage high-volume data exchanges. • Contribute across the software stack, including backend services, data pipelines, and cloud deployments. • Maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines, version control processes, and software architecture standards. Candidates should have: • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field. • 7+ years of software development experience, preferably in SaaS or cloud-based products. • Proficiency in backend programming languages such as Python, Java, or Kotlin. • Strong understanding of algorithms, data structures, and software development principles. • Experience with database design, SQL, transactions, and high-volume data processing. • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, version control (e.g., Git), and best practices for software deployment. • Familiarity with AWS cloud services, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and scalable application design. • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
