This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Battery Systems Research and Development Engineer - REMOTE. In this role, you will have the opportunity to innovate and contribute to cutting-edge battery technology aimed at high power and high energy applications for underwater vehicles. You will engage in the design and prototyping of battery systems while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team. The impact of your work will not only support advanced research but also contribute to critical defense applications, shaping the future of electric propulsion systems. Your expertise will foster both individual and organizational growth as you tackle challenging engineering problems. \n Accountabilities Design and prototype new and improved module and pack designs for battery systems. Investigate and evaluate innovative battery chemistries through literature reviews and partnerships. Model and simulate battery performance using tools like MATLAB/Simulink. Design experiments and testing protocols for assessing performance and safety. Analyze large data sets to evaluate performance and identify failure modes. Conduct safety assessments and ensure compliance with safety standards. Collaborate with cross-functional teams for seamless integration into electric vehicles. Prepare technical reports, schematics, and documentation. Requirements Expertise in high-voltage battery systems. Experience leading or working within a technical engineering team. Understanding of high-voltage battery design concepts. Ability to troubleshoot and integrate hardware into larger systems. Knowledge of battery state estimation and control algorithms.
