The Project Manager-Planning will play a central role in shaping innovative community plans for cities, towns, and counties. This position involves leading research, facilitating public participation, and delivering high-quality planning documents that are visually engaging and actionable. The ideal candidate will collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams of planners, engineers, landscape architects, and economic development professionals to produce technically sound, market-driven plans. Facilitate public participation activities to identify community needs, priorities, and opportunities. Prepare interim and final planning documents, incorporating writing, mapping, and graphic design. Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to recommend strategies addressing economic and community development goals. Travel to and facilitate public, stakeholder, and steering committee meetings across the state. Interact effectively with elected officials, local government staff, partnering consulting firms, and internal team members. Requirements: Candidates should possess a strong foundation in urban and community planning with proven project management experience. Required qualifications include: Bachelor’s degree in planning, urban design, public policy, landscape architecture, or a related field. Minimum of 6 years of professional experience preparing long-range community plans (e.g., comprehensive plans, thoroughfare plans, district plans). AICP Certification preferred. Excellent graphic design skills with proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite. Experience with ArcGIS for mapping and spatial analysis. Strong written and verbal communication, critical thinking, and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
