This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Project Manager, People (Compliance) in the United States. As Project Manager, People (Compliance), you will play a key role in driving strategic HR and compliance projects, particularly within mergers and acquisitions (M&A). You’ll coordinate cross-functional initiatives that span HR, payroll, benefits, and legal functions—ensuring seamless execution and alignment with organizational goals. This role combines strong project management expertise, business acumen, and an understanding of compliance frameworks to deliver impactful, high-quality results. Operating in a fully remote and global environment, you’ll collaborate with diverse teams and senior leaders to enhance efficiency, mitigate risks, and maintain operational excellence in all people-related projects. Accountabilities Plan, manage, and deliver people-related M&A projects from due diligence to post-merger integration, ensuring timelines, scope, and quality standards are met. Develop detailed project plans, monitor progress, and communicate updates to stakeholders across HR, compliance, legal, and finance. Identify potential risks and develop proactive mitigation strategies to ensure smooth execution. Lead integration activities and align people operations across merging entities for efficiency and compliance. Support due diligence by gathering, analyzing, and documenting key employee and organizational data. Create and maintain tools, templates, and frameworks to enhance project management effectiveness and consistency. Drive process improvements in HR compliance, payroll, and benefits operations, ensuring scalability and regulatory adherence. Partner closely with leadership teams to track progress, manage dependencies, and ensure strategic alignment of initiatives. Compile and present clear progress reports and data-driven insights to senior leadership and stakeholders. Build strong, trust-based relationships across teams and serve as the main point of contact for all compliance and M&A-related projects. 4+ years of experience in project management, preferably within HR, compliance, M&A, or payroll/tax functions. Proven ability to manage complex, cross-functional projects with multiple stakeholders. Strong knowledge of M&A processes, HR compliance frameworks, and people operations. Proficiency in project management tools such as Jira, Monday.com, and Google Suite. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with high attention to detail. Strong understanding of HR functions including performance, engagement, and change management. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to manage and influence stakeholders at all levels. Demonstrated ability to work independently in a remote, fast-paced, and evolving environment. High emotional intelligence, cultural awareness, and a proactive approach to collaboration. Familiarity with international employment laws and their impact on HR processes is a plus. Willingness to travel occasionally for team offsites and global events.
