This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Principal Technical Program Manager (API Development) – Remote in United States. This role offers the opportunity to lead the strategy and execution of complex API programs that power scalable, high-impact technology solutions. You will define and drive technical roadmaps, ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver robust APIs and product features. This position provides autonomy and accountability, allowing you to shape program outcomes, improve interoperability, and influence system architecture decisions. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with deep technical expertise in API design, integration, and software development, capable of mentoring teams and driving results in a fast-paced, distributed environment. You will play a central role in ensuring program excellence, operational efficiency, and high-value delivery across products and services. \n Accountabilities: Define and lead organization-wide API strategy, interoperability roadmap, and technical standards for usability, security, scalability, and performance. Drive cross-functional development programs from concept to delivery in an Agile environment, managing roadmaps, backlog prioritization, and feature trade-offs. Oversee release management, including feature flags, phased rollouts, and post-release monitoring. Establish API governance frameworks, best practices, and documentation standards, including PRDs, sequence diagrams, and workflows. Collaborate effectively with engineering, quality, research, compliance, and customer success teams to align technical initiatives with business goals. Mentor and develop junior program managers, fostering technical and program management expertise across the organization. Track and report key performance indicators for API adoption, performance, and business impact. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. 10+ years of experience in technical program management, with 2–3 years at a senior/expert level. Strong technical background and hands-on experience in API development and management (REST, GraphQL, SOAP, Webhooks). Expertise in software development lifecycle and Agile methodologies. Knowledge of authentication and security frameworks (OAuth 2.0, token-based authentication) and regulatory compliance standards. Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, microservices architecture, event-driven systems, and DevOps processes. Proficiency with data analytics tools such as SQL, Snowflake, and Power BI. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical audiences. Demonstrated ability to manage complex technical programs, coordinate multiple stakeholders, and resolve execution risks. Preferred: experience in healthcare technology, EHR systems, interoperability standards (FHIR, HL7), and regulatory compliance (ONC, HIPAA).
