This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Principal Software Architect in the United States. In this role, you will act as a lead architect and technical authority across multiple software product lines, including both legacy and modern systems. You will drive scalable, maintainable, and high-performance architecture decisions while mentoring developers and guiding cross-functional teams. Your work will include debugging complex systems, managing build and release processes, and collaborating closely with product management to align technical strategy with business goals. You will engage directly with internal and external stakeholders, providing guidance and solutions that impact the organization’s operations and product success. The position supports remote work within the U.S., offering a flexible environment for technical leadership and innovation. Accountabilities: · Serve as the principal technical authority for multiple software systems, including legacy and modern warehouse/logistics solutions. · Own and evolve system architecture to ensure scalability, maintainability, and performance. · Lead post-failure diagnostics and debugging using core dumps, crash analysis, and breadcrumb tracing. · Design, maintain, and manage build systems and CI/CD pipelines, ensuring reproducible builds. · Mentor engineers and provide technical guidance across teams, fostering best practices and development standards. · Collaborate with product management to align technical initiatives with business objectives. · Maintain and extend systems using C/C++, Java, JavaScript, PRO*C, and Oracle PL/SQL. · Perform basic Oracle DBA tasks and utilize Unix command-line tools for remote diagnostics and automation. · 15+ years of experience in software development, architecture, and debugging. · Strong proficiency in C/C++ and Unix/Linux command-line tools and APIs. · Experience with Oracle, including basic DBA tasks, data import/export, and instance management. · Ability to debug complex systems without direct access to live environments. · Familiarity with Java or C# for enterprise-level development. · Excellent problem-solving, communication, and mentoring skills. · Proven ability to lead technical teams and guide cross-functional collaboration. · Ability to quickly learn new technologies and adapt to changing environments. · Nice-to-have: experience with ClearCase/SVN, Windows internals, POSIX standards, MKS NuTCRACKER, JavaScript, PRO*C, logistics/manufacturing systems, and DevOps practices. · Competitive compensation with potential discretionary bonuses. · Remote work flexibility within the United States. · Participation in stock grant programs or employee stock purchase programs. · Comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance. · Paid Time Off, sick leave, and tuition reimbursement. · 401K and flexible spending account options. · Inclusive and diverse workplace with opportunities for professional growth.
