This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Packaging Engineering Manager in the United States. This role provides an exciting opportunity to lead and shape packaging engineering initiatives across Medical Device and Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) portfolios. As a Packaging Engineering Manager, you will oversee projects from concept through commercialization, ensuring packaging solutions meet regulatory, quality, and operational standards. You will mentor a team of engineers, collaborate with diverse client teams, and drive process improvements across packaging specification management systems. The position offers a dynamic, customer-facing environment where innovation, technical expertise, and sustainability are prioritized. With the flexibility to work remotely or in a hybrid setup, you will also have opportunities to travel and support client engagements. This is a high-impact role for a hands-on leader who thrives on coaching, problem-solving, and delivering exceptional results. \n Accountabilities: Lead and manage packaging engineering projects across medical devices and/or CPG portfolios, from concept through commercialization Own and enhance packaging specification management processes, including creation, harmonization, migration, and lifecycle governance across client systems (PLM, ERP, or digital spec platforms) Serve as a primary point of contact and strategic advisor for client teams, building strong relationships and ensuring exceptional service delivery Oversee, mentor, and develop a team of packaging engineers and specialists, fostering collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement Maintain accurate packaging documentation, bills of materials, and technical specifications aligned with regulatory, quality, and operational requirements Drive project timelines, budgets, and resource planning to ensure successful execution of multi-phase packaging programs Support packaging validation activities (ISTA, ASTM, transit testing, sterile barrier validation, etc.) as required Champion sustainable packaging practices and identify opportunities for environmental impact reduction Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineering, Food Science, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related technical discipline 5+ years of packaging engineering experience in medical devices, healthcare packaging, and/or high-volume CPG Demonstrated experience in packaging specification management, including harmonization, data cleanup, spec migration, or system implementation Strong knowledge of materials, distribution testing, packaging development processes, and manufacturing environments Experience in regulated industries (FDA-compliant medical devices, pharmaceuticals, or food) preferred Proven track record leading cross-functional initiatives and managing multiple projects simultaneously Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers, guide technical decisions, and foster a high-performance culture Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills Ability to travel as needed to support client engagements Benefits: Competitive salary ($105,000 – $135,000) Medical, dental, and vision insurance with Health Savings Options and wellness programs 401(k) retirement savings plan with generous company match Paid parental leave and company-paid short-term disability insurance Company-paid life insurance Paid time off (PTO), sick and mental health days, 11 paid company holidays Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Professional development opportunities \n Why Apply Through Jobgether?
